Dr Heidi M. Stroessner-Johnson, MD

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Stroessner-Johnson for several years. She is a great advocate for her patients and is an excellent communicator. Dr. Stroesner-Johnson is very methodical and thorough with a genuine warmth for her patients. We are very grateful to have her as our physician.

I cannot believe some of the other reviews on this website! I have been Dr. Stroessner-Johnson's patient for 15+ years, most recently had an appointment with her just this morning, and I find her unfailingly to be caring, patient, and thorough. I have a number of excellent specialists (to whom she referred me), but I count on her overview of my general health as well as her overview of the care the other doctors are giving me. She has seen me through some serious illnesses. Dr. Stroessner-Johnson is by far the best doctor I have ever had, and I highly recommend her.

Our appt with the doctor was to tell her the symptoms by Mum was experiencing. Namely, phlegm, occasional low grade fever, occasional sweating. She ordered an X-ray to rule out pneumonia. When asked what we should do about the phlegm, she said “let’s take it one at a time.” Told her Mucinex did not help. “Let’s take it one at a time” was again her answer. Temperature taken at the visit showed normal but never address the issue of how we get rid of fever. We were the ones who requested a urine test to rule out infection. Mum’s (97 years old) X-ray showed “torturous” aoerta which was quite common in elderly patients. She., on the recommendation of the radiologist, ordered a CAT scan which would be very risky to a 96 year old patient due to a big dose of dye injectec for the scan. Patient is required to drink massive amount of water to fluff out the dye as it may cause damage to kidneys if all traces are not removed. Making a 97 year old drink the required amount of water after scan… would be impossible. Mum’s cardiologist already is aware of the torturous aoerta for yet last several years and is monitoring the situation. Cardiologist didn’t think a CAT scan was necessary as echocardiogram was already done 2 previous years. We refused to have Mum be subjected to a CAT scan. She will have an echo dine next month. The lack of consideration to the risk that may cause to an elderly patient and then to insist on the test was not acceptable. The “let’s take it one at a time” also was not acceptable. She could have taken a culture test that same day as our appointment and address the low grade fever would have help Mum with reducing her phlegm. Instead we resorted to asking 2 of our doctor friends to help with alleviating of the phlegm. Her negligence was not acceptable.

I am appalled!!!!! I have been treated horribly at PAMF but this is by all far THE worst!

Nursing staff and front office rude and unfriendly. Not very responsive to needs for faster appts. Small cramped office becasue she shares it with another doctor/mom.

Dr. Stroessner Johnson was not a very good primary care doc. She didn't provide or put in referrals in a timely mannner. Her nurse is very cold and impersonal and rough handles the patients. Dr. Stroessner Johnson also charted another patients lab results in my chart and called me with erroneous information. I experienced delays in seeing specialists. I filed a complaint with the HMO and after review on this care which I considered below the standard of care I was terminated by Dr. Stroessner Johnson. It worked out for the best as Dr. Stroessner Johnson also failed to diagnose a lung problem I had. Instead of doing any testing she just prescribed an asthma medication. After I had a new PCP I was referred to the pulmonary doctor who properly diagnosed something other than asthma by doing a simple in office spirometry and pulmonary function test. Thank goodness the misdiagnosis was caught in time.
