The best so far after 20 years with an epileptic son.

She was attentive and took us seriously and spent lots of time with us and she made a huge difference at the time we were going to move out of state because we could not find a doctor we trusted.

I have changed four Neurologists over four years, and this is one doctor that works for me and my child both.

My son and I adored Dr. Barkan. She was warm, professional, and listened well. She spent over an hour with us, and later called us the same day with the results of the EEG and blood tests, and gave me her cell phone and home phone number for emergencies, which I used twice later.I did not like to call the office, the person at the other end was rude. Also the wait was long. But we do love the doctor.

Doctor is rigid and unwilling to meet patient halfway. Staff is astoundingly bad--e.g. it took 5 months & many phone calls to get a simple doctor-ordered test scheduled. In latest snafu, it took 4 requests made over 5 weeks to get a REFILL of a vital Rx been taking for years. No callback or communication until the 4th time when I had to raise heaven and earth and finally talked to a nurse with a brain. Doctor's secretary is extremely rude, and usually fails to return calls.
