Dr. Helen Ede, MD

Best decision I made when I changed from longtime PCP to Dr. Ede. Welcoming office. Dr. Ede was thorough in her exam making patient well comfortable and relaxed. Important to me was to be a part of the decision making process.

I feel very fortunate to have doctor Ede as my primary care Physician. Dr. Ede is extremely Smart, a rare find in today’s Medical arena. Dr. Ede asks a lot of questions, spends time really trying to work through your medical concerns and issues with patience, kindness and care. Her office associates are absolutely the BEST in the industry to work with . Carolann frontline associate is very pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Unlike other practices where the Physicians are not available, the office staff are impatient and rude and also lack common sense. This is definitely not the treatment you will experience when choosing to see Dr. Ede. Go quickly she the best and is filling up quickly. Again, a clear indication that you are with an extremely unusual medical office they truly care about their Clients and enjoy working for Doctor Ede.

My DR retired and transferred all her patients to DR. EDE, a one woman practice.. I was on the phone for over half and hour, press one, press two,etc, like a corporate office...I needed to get to see her because I needed a prescription refilled and knew She would not refull without having seen me..I went to my Dr, for over 35 years...and the sec. or nurse picked up on the second ring..This was horrible.. Imagine if I was seriously ill...I hung up tried again, still. Only a voice mail...Needless to say,I went with another group...Talked to the Dr.s assistant...I would mot recommend Dr. EDE as this was an unprofessional experience..I had respected my Dr’s choice, but I was dead wrong...

Ede Doesn’t care: -to listen to what I said -to look at the meds I recently stopped taking as possibly the cause of my symptoms -to examine me thoroughly Basically, I feel she doesn’t care about me at all. She has a cold & distant demeanor. She likes to refer out or give an antibiotic without examining the patient or the presenting symptoms. She takes the easy way out. She’s not a very deep thinker or skillful practitioner. Honestly, I think she’s in this business for the easy way through it. Not at an excellent doctor by any means. I think she’s really mediocre at best. I really Don’t want to go back to her for any reason. She is a “fair weather” doctor for sure. Receptionist is moody and unpleasant. Only the medical assistants are kind, in particular one MA.

Regrettably I transferred my elderly Mother to this practice. More often than not I had to call to get lab results myself several days after they were available to the Dr. and call backs from phone messages left for the assistant were typically returned days after or sometimes never. I called Pact Management to give my feedback as I was really amazed by the ongoing poor communication of the Dr's assistant regarding important information and patient questions. Although they apologized for my poor experience they stated that possibly the reason I didn't get return calls could be that the recipient was on vacation or out sick on these occasions and advised me in the future when leaving messages for a Dr. its best to make follow up calls and speak to the front desk if I don't hear back. How about a phone messaging system that alerts you that the recipient is away from their desk for a period of time so the person leaving the message doesn't wait all day or days to hear back??? Thanks,… but I've never had problems like this with a Physicians office ever....Needless to say, no longer a patient.

It’s been about a decade since I last had an appointment with Dr. Ede. But I still to this day think about the string of difficult appointments that I had with her. I’ve gone without a primary care provider for the last 10 years because I’m afraid of finding another one that’ll treat me - or perhaps more accurately- fail to treat me like she did. I’ve wanted to find a doc, I need to find a doc. But every time I look up new providers- I can never follow through and make the phone call because I have flashbacks. The worst one is by far the appointment where I showed up having a full on panic attack. I was there for a physical, I hadn’t had one for a couple of years. I have White Coat Syndrome as well as a history of general anxiety issues. I was also underage and an addict at the time and I was worried about being “found out”. I was waiting in the exam room for her and my heart was racing, absolutely hammering against my rib cage. I was trembling with anxiety. I tried to do some deep… breathing but it wasn’t working, I couldn’t calm down. She finally comes in and starts with a little small talk. I can barely manage to reply. She begins the exam (an annual physical) by listening to my heart. She listens to one spot for all of 2 seconds before that portion of the exam is over. She quickly removes the stethoscope from my chest and awkwardly makes a comment about my heart beating like a train. I tried to tell her that I had huge anxiety issues and was having a panic attack but she wasn’t listening. Apparently my extreme discomfort had made her uncomfortable and she just ignored me. She wasn’t willing to listen to my words or my heart. The rest of what little exam I got was super awkward for both of us and I left feeling unheard and humiliated. She wrote me a blood pressure prescription. I became moderately ill months later and returned several times (I was a minor at the time in a difficult situation so I had little choice- her or no one). I had several more negative experiences. Was eventually able to get an anti depressant after begging. It didn’t help the anxiety. She spoke of Ativan but never prescribed it. Put me on high doses of ibuprofen for another issue - I complained of stomach irritation but my complaints were dismissed and I eventually developed an ulcer. Eventually my frustration with her grew to the point that I was able to make a comment that she didn’t appreciate. She left the room and said she would be back with samples. I waited for quite a while but she never came back, eventually a nurse came and let me out. Would not recommend if you have any serious health issues. I’ve heard that some people like her because “she doesn’t lecture” but in my experience she doesn’t listen either. I kinda wanna call her a “fair weather” doctor. When everything is fine she will suffice but as soon as it gets a little rough she either can’t or doesn’t want to deal with it. Maybe she’s changed since I was her patient. Hopefully so. I see some decent reviews. And I don’t like the thought of a bunch of people out there hurting like I did, like I do. I’ve needed to write this review for a long time- gonna try to move forward now.

Made an appt for my sick elderly mother with Dr Ede... my mom’s mobility has recently deteriorated & it’s a chore to get her out of her house to these appts (I am adjusting, as well!). Anyway, we walked into the office 15 minutes late & before my mom could get through the door we were told due to our lateness we would need to reschedule!! So I explained that my mom was really sick & couldn’t they just fit her in but was told they were fully booked for the rest of the day & she’d have to come back another day?!?! They turned my sick mother away because she was 15 minutes late....... Funny thing is my mom had an earlier apply with Dr. Ede at an assisted living facility. Dr. Ede was an hour late for that appt. No rescheduling requirement that time... ———- I will not trust my moms health with someone that treats her patients in this manner - nor should you.....

Dr. Ede listens and genuinely cares about her patients. She's easy to talk to, get a hold of and is always on point at diagnosing my ailments. I have been going to her for years and wouldn't switch for anything.

Dr. Ede's entire group is excellent

Was misdiagnosed several times by Dr. Ede and constantly rushed through appointments.
