Dr. Helen Feng, MD

This crazy money hungry doctor (Feng) should be eliminated from the profession for fraud and malpractice. My mother's 80 y/o, and had complaints of aches and pains especially in her legs when walking. She is not active, so atrophy of leg muscles seems reasonable. Without even an X-RAY, Dr. Feng firmly stated that she needed TWO full hip replacements. I was appalled...and said "show me one shred of medical proof, an x-ray of the hip deterioration or damage, that would require two major surgeries on an 80 y/o patient". Dr. Feng said "Well, the cutoff for having hip surgery is 85 y/o, and she's 80, so she might as well have it done". Again, I said I wanted medical proof that she needed hip surgery. The doctor stated "well, she's 80 and she has pain". She also had print-out sheets advocating AGAINST any pain relief medicine, and said over and over "I don't want her taking advil or tylanol, cause it could have adverse reactions". She would NOT recommend the slow approach of OTC pain meds,… and for the SECOND time, told Mom that she needed double hip replacement surgery. My mother then went to Palo Alto Medical, had the xrays, and was told that there was no way she needed hip replacement surgery. Both times this quack said firmly that she needed hip surgery, she gave my mom a slip with a hip surgeon's name to do the surgery. It was the same man both times. I'm sure they are working together to steal as much money from the system through this malpractice fraud. This tiger woman is a horrible nightmare of arrogance and fraud. INVESTIGATE THIS DOCTOR.

I rated Dr. Helen Feng 5 stars, if the highest allowable rating is 7, I would give her a “7” star rating. She is the best doctors I have ever visited in my ~70 years life. She is not only knowledgeable but also willing to listen to my symptoms and try to understand what may cause the problem. Then, she will figure out a possible path for medical solution. First, she examined my blood test result and then, gave me medications and explained to me about side effects (GI) and watch out the indication for possible symptoms (ankle swollen, kidney, liver index etc) as alert. She also yellow highlighted the dosage and frequency for certain medication. Finally, I truely strongly recommend Dr. Feng.

I have called many times to make an appointment and left messages and no one is returning my calls. Dr Feng was referred by my doctor. But I have a bad feeling after reading all the reviews and is true they do not pick up the phone to answer. So how can I trust this office if no one is even paying attention to their patients.

I really like her personally! She is really interested in your well being!

Though I regard Dr. Feng as competent in her field, the poor bedside manner, which includes personal insults, leaves me yearning for another doctor. That said, though I always leave my visits with a with a bad taste in my mouth, I will probably remain with Dr. Feng for fear of acquiring a less competent Rheumatologist.

I realize that my feedback is the only negative one, but I have to tell of my experience. I met Dr Feng some months ago. First visit - Thrilled with the experience. I liked her a lot. Then she wrote my prescriptions. I asked her to send them to my locco pharmacy. She refused. Instead she called them into a pharmacy in Cucamonga. The meds were supposed to be mailed to me. The pharmacy called and was charging me for each prescription though I have insurance that covers everything. I contacted my insurance and they asked that she works with the locco pharmacy. She did, however the insurance asked for pre authorisation. It's a simple standard procedure. Dr Feng refused to give it. Said it was a waste of time and paper. My insurance called her office. It was a 3 way call. She still refused, but after much pressure from insurance she gave the PA. This was for the medicine itself, Methatrexate. The same thing was needed for the syringes. This time DR Feng did not bend. I… made so many phone calls and trips to pharmacy, I lost count. She simply refused to give PA. Her argument - Insurance will not approve it anyway so why bother? Insurance told her with me on the phone - We will, just do it. She still didn't. I regret to say that as nice as she was in person, and knowledgeable, she was not willing to help me. She did not act in my best interest because I insisted she works with my locco pharmacy. Perhaps she has some special arrangements with the pharmacy downsouth. I don't know. I filed a complained against DR Feng with my insurance and I am now looking for another dr. I had never before met a dr who refused to give me PA while it costs them nothing but doing some paperwork. Too bad -- I really liked her. I didn't mind giving my name. She knows it's all true.

This Dr. was condescending and rude. Her office staff is horrendous. After receiving several IV infusions for RA I was still experiencing pain, stiffness but was starting to see an improvement in other areas. She interrupted me, made comments about my appearance, prescribed more immune depressant medication even though I was already dealing with a bacterial infection and a fungal infection. When I told her I still hurt she asked me if I was on a anti-depressant. In prescribing one medication I had had difficulty with before (not that she knew that.. she interrupted me again) she had a preconceived idea of me and didn't take the time to see what was really going on.

Doesn't get upset at me, even though I don't follow all her advice.

Every time I call them, in 90% probability the front desk does not answer. Even you leave a message, she does not reply. One time, I just wanted to check if the doctor had received my blood tests result, she was unable to help me. I guess the front desk is a relative of the doctor's. Her working attitude is NOT good.

She is caring and considerate. She is extremely knowledgable.
