Had a rescheduled visit with Doctor Koenig and waited 45 minutes. Also waited 45 minutes ( several weeks before) before office sent me home as the schedule had a problem and she was taking a meeting. When she came in , she focused on any psychological problems and haadn’t read a 48 (or more) Page report from Jefferson. I have had chronic Epstein Barr virus with liver damage since 2008 with numbers that vary from 500 to 1600 and intermittent activations. She said I had a mono virus that you treat like a cold. When I tried to point to the test results, she said, “we have patients with much worse that are dying”. I got up to leave , as I was shocked! Made an appointment with John Hopkins and they confirmed Iam in an acute activation of this virus. Additionally disappointing was I shared this in a survey with Penn and no one contacted me. Iam a Penn grad - have been a Penn adjunct and have many family members who were treated at Penn. This was a difficult experience and I then… doubted myself. Thank goodness I went to John Hopkins
