Dr. Helen Sandland was my gynecologist for many years. She always went above and beyond what any other doctor I have ever seen has done. I have Pudendal Neuralagia and was in excruiating pain all of the time. Dr. Sandland tried everything that she knew to help me find relief, and even did much research and learned new procedures that she had not yet performed in order to help me get relief from pain. She truly cares about her patients and wants what is best for them and will sacrifice her own needs in order to be able to practice what she believes to be the right of all women who choose to have children, and that is the right to have a normal childbirth when it is medically deemed appropriate and safe. Because of the higher ups who think they know more about having babies, delivering babies and c-sections, Dr. Sandland is no longer my gynecologist, because she was refused to force women who wanted to have a natural childbirth, to have a c-section, and therefore she had to take… her practice to another state. I miss her so much. There will never be another doctor as caring, understanding and concerned about the welfare of patients as Dr. Helen Sandland is.

Loved her demeanor, she made every visit relaxing & so comfortable. She speaks in plain English, which is greatly appreciate & totally lacks the typical "doctor as God" syndrome. She is sorely missed in Morristown, TN & all the woman I know who were her patients feel the same. If anyone knows where this incredible, knowledgeable, caring & professional Dr. is now practicing, please post it! We would be willing to travel to another state for our yearly exams and any problems. Thanks!

Dr.Sandland listened to my concerns and promptly addressed them. She is a very good doctor. It's a shame that Health Star, doesn't realize this.

.. renewed....Dr. Helen Sandland was the only Dr. I had gone to that was willing to help me. She is a woman's advocate and due to politics she won't b practicing in this area. It is a shame that politics determines woman's health care, or any health care for that matter. No diffrent than the HMO's telling the Dr.'s what treatment they can or can't do. These Corps. tell the Drs what operations and such they HAVE to do to get their contracts renewed......its bull.

My mom died two years ago--and she had terrible pain from where a catheter had pulled out of her. She didn't have no problems before she went into the hospital with her bladder but she was in so much pain and peeing on herself all the time. The pain was terrible.A friend told me to to take her to see Dr. Sandland. It was hard because my mom was so sick, but Dr. Sandland got her in the same day, and she put my mom on some medicine and put some medicine into her bladder and solved the problem. Then she did something nobody in my family had ever seen done.Dr. Sandland drove out to my house (about 25 minute drive from her office),to see my mom twice--when her pain came back. She came on the very day I called to ask for an appointment--it was unbelievable. She called me back to say she didn't want to have my mom dragged out of bed to come into her office--she should be at peace in her bed. She drove all the way out to help my mom. She put the medicine into my moms bladder and it kept… her pain free and not peeing on herself. She died about 3 weeks after out first visit. I should have written this a long time ago. I was just thinking of how nice she was to do that--and she never charged us for it neither.So for you haters out there--tell me what doctor would have done that? She is a very kind doctor.

Dr Sandland delivered 3 of my kids. I love her as a dr and a friend.
