Dr. Helen Simigiannis, MD

I had never had a bad experience at Antheia meeting with Dr. Yana Markidan who was always incredibly sweet and caring. The first (and only) time I had Helen Simigiannis, she was extremely condescending and rude. I was in the middle of explaining my symptoms, when she stopped me and said to stop using the word "like". Doctors make me nervous (as I have had a bad experience in the past), and I told her this, to which she responded, in an extremely patronizing manner, that it was a bad habit and made me seem "unprofessional", and if I wanted to be hired for a job I had to break the habit, and that she said the same thing to her toddler-aged daughter. I am not a toddler, I am in college, and I came in for an urgent medical reason, not a lecture or a job interview. She wasn't at all focused on the gynecological issues I was having, instead zeroing in on my diction and seemed disinterested and cold the entire time. It was all so unprofessional, upon leaving the office I immediately burst… into tears I was so upset. If you want to be treated with respect and actually have your problems heard by a caring doctor, Helen is not the one for you.

The medical associate who answers the calls is not approachable at all. She's very sarcastic, short and impatient. Unfortunately, this behavior has led me to search for a new doctor.

Doctor is not knowledgeable. Doctor does not listen when you talk to her. VERY upset with my experiences with this office.

What a great and warm doctor, the office staff is incredibly helpful and nice.

If you do not schedule appointments for testing in a timely manner, the office or the doctor will contact you directly to remind you.

I can't say enough good things about this practice! I have lived in five states and never had a doctor's office provide plus size patient gowns before, so they get a HUGE high five for that. The employees are friendly and courteous and they make me feel cared about and treated with confidentiality, respect, and dignity. The office is decorated nicely and seems very clean. I am a great big chicken about seeing the doctor, and they really put me at ease. I would refer anyone to this practice.

Dr S is a great doctor the staff is vary friendly i would recommend her to fam and friends

Dr. Helen is a rare doctor to find. She truly cares and truly understands, and works very hard to make her patients comfortable and feel like they are a priority. She spends ample time and thoroughly addresses questions and concerns. Her level of compassion far exceeds most medical professionals these days.

Be careful if you go here! They make you sign several sheets saying you are financially responsible no matter what. I wrote a note on form saying I only want services covered by insurance, they said THEY DID NOT KNOW and COULD NOT TELL what was covered and if I didn't agree to pay whatever they wanted to do, they refused to see me. Very rude. I left. I have written that on every DR. form for 10 years and no one has ever refused me service, insurance pays so why all the guarantees I will pay? I work for the state and have great insurance. I know they know what insurance covers, I find this VERY suspect. BE CAREFUL!

I have already recommended Dr. Simigiannis to several friends and will continue to tell anyone who's looking for a gyn that she is the best I've ever experienced. Her staff is very attentive and friendly - they know your name by the second visit and it's like hanging out with your friends when you're there. The office is immaculate and beautiful, and making appointments is easy and quick - they get you in right away. Most of all, Dr. Simigiannis herself is just fantastic. She makes sure you understand everything and all options and I trust her with my life. I recently had a complication post-surgery and she was in the hospital with me daily and at all ours - she it truly dedicated. Her follow-up is great too. Highly, highly recommend!
