Dr. Hemanjani Gonchigar, MD

While I was filling out forms, I observed Dr. Gonchigar"s greeting other patients. I was pleasantly surprised to see the compassion and pleasantness exude from a human being. It's a small office practice and very busy but one does not feel rush talking to her and that she really cares. I was late, missed my appointment and suggested that I reschedule with the understanding I would be charged for a no-show, which was understandable but she was able to rearrange her schedule to see me the same morning.

Just found out that she misdiagnosed me as having bipolar I when I really had major depression. I saw a top specialist in bipolar and he said that there isn't evidence that I am bipolar. This doctor also tried to put me on an anti-psychotic, which I didn't react well to. She refused to help me taper off of it, when she originally said that she was going to eventually take me off of it, but I just needed to be on it during the interim. I'm going to find a new doctor, but I gave her a 4-5 month shot.

Everything was fine for a while. She would only ever see me for a few minutes but I'm also seeing a therapist so that works. Yesterday I showed up what I thought was on time for a 12:30 appointment that was actually at 11:30. I had misread their confirmation. I was sitting in her office and she called me someone else, then we clarified that I was off by an hour. She abruptly gets up and walks me out the door saying she had someone else at 12:30. I asked if they could refill me since that is really what I need and she only prescribes 90 days at a time even though appointments are 3 months apart. They refused to do that or see me. By the time I scheduled another appointment for the next week then used the restroom and decided to cancel it, 25 minutes had gone by and this other person STILL hadn't shown up. The moral of the story is they don't care about you or your well-being or the fact that what they prescribe has withdrawal symptoms so you actually NEED it to function even if there is… a mixup. I'm not going to let someone without empathy prescribe me anything.

She judges her patients and has horrible office management. They dont tell you your appointment will not all be covered by your insurance and then bill you a large bill 2 years later. Horrible!

Judgmental doctor who couldn't wait to write me a prescription

Spent more time assessing me as a liability to her practice. Repeatedly asked if I had a lawyer. Prescribed medication that interacted with other important medications. Refused to sign FMLA paperwork and placed my job at risk. Refused to provide treatment and called me a "non-compliant" patient because she didn't want to have to deal with me or the fact that she deems me as a liability. I feel abandoned by her as my Psychiatrist when I needed her the most.
