Dr. Henry Joseph Elsner, MD

I feel very safe in Dr Elsner’s hands he listens to what you have to say. And then he breaks the answer down so you can understand what is going on with your body. He has been my husband’s doctor for many years and I have always been very happy with him. Thank you Dr Elsner. Also his staff is very pleasant to work with.

Dr. Elsner is a very kind, concerned, caring physician. He never makes you feel rushed. He listens to your problems with your back and/or neck, walking, standing, ect. and orders tests,if needed , to get more info . He's very intelligent and has years of experience. I worked with him @ Cone Health & his partners, from the time he came to Greensboro til I retired. I've never heard anything but good things about him . I've seen his work 1st hand. He's a wonderful physician & we are extremely lucky to have him in Greensboro.

Dr. Elsner has consistently been there for me throughout many years & 2 spinal surgeries. He is an excellent educator, surgeon & has a fun yet caring bedside manner. His thoroughness & expert care is critical and I am grateful for his care.

Dr Elsner performed a laminectomy and released all of the lumbar nerves. I now am very relieved and my problem will not get worse. He is patient and thorough. He is the absolute best.

I am very happy to have found Dr. Elsner. His reputation is excellent. He spends as much time as the patient needs to understand the issue and what approach is best. Surgery is not the first choice.

I visited Dr. Elsner today to report how my past injection was doing and how the pain levels had been. I told him that the last back injection was the best that I have ever had. The relief was maximum relief. We talked about future plans of remaining with back injections while they were working and holding off on back surgery until complications developed. Dr. Elsner is knowledgeable in all areas of the back and I feel comfortable with him being in full Control of all decisions. I have been in his care for many years and he is one more solid professional .

You seldom find doctors of of this caliber--Dr. Elsner is professional, extremely knowledgeable, warm and caring. He takes his time and doesn't rush through a visit. He goes above expectations and answers questions and thinks through next steps and best treatments for the individual. He followed up our visit with a phone call to provide additional information.

Dr. Elsner has been my neuro surgeon for a number of years and has been a wonderful and caring doctor. The new facility at cone health for neuro patients is great, full of caring and knowledgeable staff. My last operation was 5 hrs long, including partly robotic surgery, and went well, but other complications meant staying in ICU for 10 days. Dr. Elsner checked on me even though my care was now under GI doctors. 2+ weeks in their in house PT/OT got me up and going. Again, Dr. Elsner checked on my progress. His staff at his office are kind and wonderful people. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone needing his services.

After so many misdiagnosis by other physicians Dr Elsner was able to diagnose me correctly. So glad to have him for a physician.
