Dr. Henry I-Tsai Kung, MD

I was referred by my primary doctor, to doctor Henry I kung. I can down to the office with my referral ,to make an appointment.The receptionist Janice was not nice ,she would ask me so much questions.She even referring me to a different doctor ,because I had a different insurance in a different city ,but I recently moved to walnut creek, with different insurance ,so I had to change all my doctors ,primary doctors and specialist. I explained everything to her. so reluctantly she made me an appointment ,I was so happy to have somewhere to go close by.Then two days later this receptionist Janice called me to tell me to rude and commanding that the doctor refused to see me so they were cancelling my appointment.I asked her why ,but she didn't explain anything to my, and she told me to go see another doctor.I started crying,I was so upset. I told her i was a problem, I have to see a doctor.She hanged up the phone on me.Today I called agin ,and asked agin why the doctor couldn't see me… because thats not fare to me.The only thing she said was thats the rules,If you saw a Gastroenterologist before ,then i wasn't allowed to see this doctor Henry .I believe this is not fare nor right.I saw another different specialist before and they have asked me that if i seen another specialist before, all the doctors and receptionist at that office have been so kind and nice to me and have gave me such good customer service, and have not denied any off my appointments.

Fantastic, detailed, caring physician. Takes all the time you need to evaluate your medical issue.

Saw Dr. Kung for a few years for ulcerative colitis until he told me my U.C. was my own fault because I was too fat. Had to find a new dr.

I asked for my records to see another doctor for a second opinion and was told he would not see me again. I do not think that is fare

Best GI that I know. I have worked along side many in the past 40 years. Very thorough, especially taking histories which is what one wants. A rare condition was diagnosed for me with diagnostics ordered to prove his suspicions. Most professional and extremely experienced!

My health was in great question and I went to Dr. Kung based on how I was diagnosed by another doctor. He found I had stage 4 ovarian cancer and spent a lot of time to get me the correct referrals and treatment I needed! Very experienced, honest and communicated very well. I am alive today because of his time and concern for my health.

This doctor is exceptional and really cares about your medical issues. He spent almost two full hours with me and that is a rare doctors appt. I have the utmost of respect and trust in this doctor.

I was told he was not available until 2 mos later "He doesn't give second opinions" and was pretty much denied even trying to make an appointment ahead of this delay when facing the possibility of having to wait that long. Very unprofessional staff.

He is rude and uncaring. Was hospitalized and he treated me awful. This man needs to retire.

Generally had a good experience with Dr Kung, although it was far from perfect. I arrived about 10min early to my appointment and he ended up making me wait for 45min past my time taking care of another patient. He did, however, speak to me for MUCH longer than I expected which is always appreciated. One complaint I do have is that he did not seem interested in knowing my thoughts on my health, and would have just hear the evidence and have me sit and wait. I would have preferred he be more receptive to my opinions and ovservations rather than cutting me and and telling me to let him just do things his ways, so-to-speak. However, by the end of the appointment things got a little more frank and it wasn't as uncomfortable.
