Dr. Henry P Nagelberg, MD

I made an appointment since I could not see well. He dilated my eyes and told me that I had cataracts and possibly diabetes. Spent very little time with me. Referred me to a cataract specialist. Billed me $150 on my visit and then another $41 despite my BlueCross BlueShield payments. Charged me for refractory tests that could NOT have been done given my limited sight. No prescription given, but I was billed for the test! Office staff useless and billing person completely incompetent. Considering asking BlueCross BlueShield to investigate billing for tests not performed. Cataract specialist very thorough charging a total of $50. I will never go back to Dr Nagelberg and suggest that you STAY AWAY!!!

Dr will always take us for an appt in any emergency or discomfort. If you call them, they will call you back the same day.

Asked for a copy of prescription when we left and was given a copy which an eye glass place would not accept. Called them from the office and asked them to fax over a prescription and they refused citing HIPPA laws. While we were waiting, two other doctors faxed other patients prescriptions to the place. We drove back to Nagelberg's office and when I asked to speak with him, he told his receptionist that I should speak to the practice manager. Seems to me that they want to make it very difficult for anyone to purchase eye glasses anywhere but in his over priced shop. My wife and I have been going to him since before he formed Branchburg Eye Physcians, and he could even give us the courtesy of speaking with us when he had no other patients in his office. We're done with him and his practice. By the way, the prescription we went back for was not complete.

Not great at refraction. Good doctor for the masses but not the guy you want to see if you have really poor vision or any abnormality. Office staff is snobby. Opticians are good.

Had a eye irritation on a Saturday afternoon. Called the office. They were ready to close, he got on the phone, asked what it was, said to come in. Waited 20 minutes for me to get there and then treated me. That was real professional and caring.

Had problems with glasses (dizziness) he prescribed but he refused to talk to me about it. Staff said he doesn't get involved in financial issues. He lost 4 patients by having that attitude.
