Dr. Herald Ostovar, MD

I’ll avoid seeing him again at any cost based on my previous experience.

This review is long overdue. I suffer from a terrible nerve condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia. When it acts up for me it's like an earthquake or electric shocks in my mouth. The night prior to seeing Dr. Ostover I was in so much pain that I drove myself to the ER at 3.am. (the 1st dr. did nothing, made me stay in the room for hrs only to say he couldn't help! I had no choice to go back the next evening (my husband and two daughters took me) Dr.Ostovar put the fire in my mouth out. Said it would be temporary maybe 6 hrs. He did a nerve block (numbing, like when you go to the dentist) gave me prednisone, higher dosage of my nerve meds and, pain meds (under controversy, but when you need them they shouldn't be.) People try to say they don't help nerve pain, but for me my nerve meds mixed with an opiate bring my pain level during flare up's from a 10 to a 5 and for me, that's the difference between living and existing.

I fell today and my knee immediately swelled to the size of a tennis ball. Dr. Ostovar saw me, did an excellent job of explaining what the issue was, and how i should deal with it. He also answered all of my questions in a very courteous way. I only spent 2 hours in ER, which was a record, due in part to an excellent, competent staff

I was not looking forward to my Er visit but Dr. Ostovar made it okay. I had severe back pain and he quickly diagnosed the kidney stone treated my pain. Thank you doctor.

My son went to the ER with extreme nerve pain from a recent type 1 diabetes diagnosis. Dr. Ostovar sent him home with Oxycodone which does NOTHING to help this type of pain, causing my son to endure overwhelming pain for days longer before he could get in to see someone that knew the right medication to prescribe. I even read online that opioids do nothing for nerve pain.....and soooo addictive. Watch out!!

Best emergency department experience I have ever had. His questions were on point and I was impressed by his decisiveness and knowledge. He was courteous and caring and informed me in a compassionate way about my diagnosis. Thank you Dr. Ostovar.
