Dr. Herbert S B Baraf, MD

Dr Baraf has been my doctor for over 15 years. He is extremely intelligent, patient, caring, and has an excellent bedside manner. He is a rare doctor who spends time with you and listens to your concerns. I never feel rushed with him and know that he will spend whatever time is needed to address my questions. He gives all his patients the same attention which is why you may have to wait a little sometimes to see him but he is well worth the wait. I have seen several doctors over the past few years as I get older, but Dr Baraf is by far the best!!

Dr. Baraf is highly knowledgeable and conscientious. However, I spend at least an hour waiting for each appointment. This system shows no respect for the patient, who does have a life--sometimes demanding--outside his office. I suppose I could just arrive an hour late. . . .

Dr. Baraf listened to my concerns. He was thorough in understanding my medical history. I felt confident in his opinion.

Long-very long waiting times for office visits (which is not necessarily Dr. Barraf's fault). He refused to renew a prescription for me because I hadn't made an appointment for an office visit, even though I had lost my insurance, could not afford the $600 visit/labs, and the medication was important to control my illness. I believe he knows his stuff, but he will not go out of his way for you; that's his prerogative, but I've since found a rheumatologist at a top-rated research hospital who has a better bedside manner.

I am extremely please with my care and treatment. Dr. Baraf is great and I am very blessed to have found him. All staff are friendly and caring. The last time I had blood drawn, it was one of if not the best experience I have ever had and it is very hard to locate veins in me.

Dr. Baraf is highly qualified and listens carefully to any and all questions. He takes as much time as I need to listen and explain in detail any concerns I have. The time he gives to me is the same as he gives to each patient. I am grateful that my friend recommended him and know I am in the best hands possible to treat me. His dedication, for example, is that when I was not feeling well he called from his vacation. I rate him off the charts for knowledge and excellence.

I have always had a great experience with ARA. Dr. Baraf is wonderful & funny. He really makes my day. His staff is always nice & pleasent & the office is quiet & comfortable.

First visit went ok. Went second time for consult of blood work. I waited 2 hours in the waiting room before the nurse took me back. When asked how much longer, I was told that there is 4 to 5 paitents ahead of me. Did not wait. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I recently went to see Dr. Baraf after my orthopedic suggested it I went to see him and he took several blood tests. After several tries, I could not fine anything out about my blood test till I went back to see him. He never looked at an X-ray or MRI. Said all the blood test were normal and sent me back to my primary care physican. And told here to put me on Lyrica and Cymbalta. So basically telling me this all in my head. Well, he is the one with the wrong diganoses. I am going to have to go through knee replacements this year, plus shoulder surgeries to clean out the arthristis. I wish their was somewhere I could file a complain against this doctor. He did not follow through.
