Dr Chen and his staff are excellent! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and always on time!! Thyroid surgery went very well and I have nothing but high praise, gratitude and respect for his entire staff. Thank you!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Chen and his NP Kelly. I had to have a total thyroidectomy due to several nodules, hyperthyroidism, and Graves. Whenever I had a question or concern his NP contacted me in a timely manner. I have healed 8 days postoperative and had no complications. I was told to take Tums 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after to prevent "Hungry Bones". The team was extremely informative with their postoperative directions. I am back at work sbd doing well. I am very pleased and will recommend them to everyone.

Yall better run this doctor is horrible only out for the Medicaid payments please save your own life because mine is ruined forever

Dr. Chen told me he removed three of the four glands out but after the surgery I told him I did not feel good right away. My PTH level was 92 after three day of supposedly removing three glands. The cure for hyper-parathyroid is the removal of the glands. Dr. Chen said this was normal level and I had hungry bones. Guess what three years later I still have three glands in my body. You should not be using your research tool to diagnosis whether a gland needs to be taken out. He does not send the glands to pathology right away to determine if he got the parathyroid glands and not just tissue. Why did he leave UW Madison for this hospital? No such thing as hungry bones. He is unprofessional and does not call his patients back. Run away for this Dr.

Dr, Chen and his staff are a class act. They are caring, competent and skilled.

I don’t have enough great things to say about Dr. Chen and his staff. He is at the top of his field of Endocrine Surgeons and is the President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons for 2018 He is gracious and kind, excellent surgical skills, and quick to respond when you have questions. He is also very envolved with the Parathyroid patient community with webinars and is highly regarded in many patient communities as well as his staff and other doctors around the world.

I had surgery with Dr. Chen. Since then, no looking back.

He screwed me over for the rest of my short life

Despite many exc. Docs in CO, Dr Chen impressed me enough to go to Madison (a nice town I've never been to before) My sestamibi came back with 1 hit but all four were bad (based on post-op eavesdropping, I wasn't the only one that day with all of my parathyroid glands bad) and 1 was buried inside another gland by my cervical vertebrae! In the same amt of time, he used both MIP & MIRP to find 'em and dig 3 bad boys out. Put 2 on ice in case my 4th one fails too. If it does, I'm definitely going back to Dr. Chen. If I ever have a surgical problem within Dr. Chen's scope, I don't care who's in CO I'm going to Chen.

Dr. Chen performed a MIRP surgery on me. I had an unsuccessful parathyroid surgery in Phoenix, where the doctor operated for over 4 hours and could not find the bad parathyroid gland--and he really did not know what to do next. After extensive research of parathyroid surgeons all over the country, I went from Arizona to Madison for surgery by Dr. Chen. He and his nurse assistant Sarah, were absolutely the best. Dr. Chen successfully found and removed my parathyroid gland in a little over an hour. My surgery was at noon, and I was back in my hotel by a little after 3:00p.m.Great bedside manner, and absolutely at the top of his profession, at least when it comes to minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. If you have this problem, I'd suggest going to Dr. Chen. And Madison is a great place to visit. PS. I am from Wisconsin originally, and attended the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Chen operates out of the UW Medical School and Hospital.
