When my grandson was seeing Dr. Gilmore, I found him to be very attentive to my grandson and very interested in his progress throughout the years we went to him. Hopefully he is still in practice.

I would highly recommend making the two hour trip to Boston, where treatment options (at least for epilepsy) are so much more advanced. Additionally, Dr. Gilmore had poor bedside manner and was generally unsupportive.

Terrible bedside manner and did not provide the most up-to-date treatment options. Do yourself s favor and drive 2 hours east to Boston.

We also took our child to Boston, so glad we did!

Unfortunately, this site doesn't allow you to give the rating of zero stars. Just don't do it. It is seven years later and I am still angry and saddened by the treatment I received in this office. Dr. Gilmore told me that I couldn't ride my bike, couldn't swim, couldn't fly alone: I should submit to a secluded life. He did not warn me about side effects, which resulted in me feeling like a failure when my cognition plummeted on Topomax and I had negative experiences on Keppra. He was slow to take me off medications when I needed to be weaned off. He did not listen to me; he was only responsive to my dad. At 13, he convinced me "seizure disorder" would ruin my potential. Talk about terrible bedside manner. Seven years later I have found another neurologist who told me that I could ride me bike, or my unicycle if I wanted to. I am in college, hoping to go to medical school and be a neurologist myself. It took me years to undo the courage I lost, though, in my first interactions with my… diagnosis in Dr. Gilmore's office. Boston is less than 2 hours away--make the commute!!

You were required to rate the doctor as at least one star, but I would have given Dr. Gilmore zero. I had extremely negative experiences with him. He restricted my activities in a way that later doctors told me was unnecessary (I have partial seizures and he told me that I could not swim, ride my bike, etc.) His bedside manner was atrocious. He left me to cry with my parents when he diagnosed me with "seizure disorder" because he didn't know how to be present for me. He prescribed me several drugs (including one that is not typically used early on in treatment) that left me with horrible side effects and was slow to taper me off of them. He had not warned me about the side effects previously. I am left angry and vulnerable eight years after my experiences with this doctor. Drive the 1.5 hours to Boston! It was the best decision I've made.

If your looking for a real careing dr for your child hes the one I took my daughter to him when she was just 6 months old after getting through a bunch of dr who never wanted to tell me anything he dignosed her with in 24hours.

my son ,has been seeing Dr. Gillmore for 8 years now, He was seeing Dr rosen whom in opion has not a care or timme in the world!! If you want a Dr. to not only address you but your child he is the Dr. what an outstanding Dr. Highly recomended !!!
