Dr. Gretz and his staff were amazing. I was referred to him by my gynecologist when they found cancerous cells in a uterine biopsy and decided upon surgery. His office squeezed me in last minute helping me juggle appointments to see him and couldn't be more supportive. Despite the last minute appt, I didn't wait longer than 10 mins max for appts. He was extremely friendly, explained everything in great detail, and put me at ease right away. I didn't feel rushed or like just another number. While in the hospital, one of the nurses I had worked with him in the past and even she gave him a glowing review. Follow up visit he was again very pleasant and seemed to really care for my well-being. Would highly recommend him!

Dr Gertz was brusque and insensitive in connection with delivering the diagnosis. He failed to weigh the pro and cons and was dismissive about my concerns.

One should consider the source when reading or allowing a review to influence you. I am a 57 year old intelligent and professional female with a long history of cervical dysplasia of varying forms which can be a dangerous precursor to cervical cancer if not managed vigilantly. I have had a long, long road since early 2017 when CIN-3 (Stage 0 cervical cancer) was strongly suspected and it was clear that traditional methods of management not be right for me anymore. I have a rich history all my life of spending hours of research and careful, intelligent deliberation in search of choosing the right paths forward for myself, because I want to live and I want to live my best life. For what I pay and for where I live in Westchester and the dues I pay, I deserve the best possible healthcare, polite treatment by staff and expert nursing, hopefully with a physician attached to an important and similarly positioned hospital. Dr. Gretz is not only impeccable in his demeanor, he is… gracious, generous and charming. For me it has been as if I am in the presence of one of the world's leading physicians (I say with a long history of knowing doctors). Even before my first visit, his nurse generously and masterfully managed me from my first concern through my last question. His nurses are top shelf and are devoted and have been with him for many, many years -- this speaks volumes. The facility and staff from the minute you hit the door is mind blowing in its function and presentation. There isn't a speck of dirt on any part of the facility, it gleams and clicks from being well run. You are moved through from arriving through departure with automated modern systems and in and out like clockwork. Dr. Gretz became the steward of my health and I gratefully put away my Googling and lost soul searching for the first time in a few years. I remember the way my shoulders went down because I was able to let go. I cried on the way home from the relief in having found the absolute best physician, nurses, staff, facility and hospital (OMG, White Plains Hospital is outstanding) that I ever could have wished for. Well, here is the important part, and I can only hope you have read through the end. I did not have my surgery yet. I needed to write this review now, because importantly, no matter what happens from here on out, I scored and I did what I needed to do to live with myself come what may. All I ever wanted was to have the best possible chance and I got that. I can handle anything that happens now -- no matter what happens now. Physicians are not God, things happen, surgery is surgery. Dr. Gretz managed my case from the day I walked through that door in an extraordinary manner that can only be described as par excellence. It just does not get better than this.

I had a growing ovarian mass, my ob/gyn, suggested its time to have it removed and that I find a Dr. that specializes in laparoscopic gynecology/oncology. After an extensive internet search, I narrowed it down to 2 Doctors. One Doctor was much closer in distance – but, after meeting Dr. Gretz, I knew between his credentials and surgery plan, he was the Dr. for me. No, he did not coddle me and tell me what I wanted to hear ---he didn’t tell me surgery is no big deal, you’ll be fine, no, you don’t have cancer , etc. – He had a detailed surgery plan for me which included how he would proceed with surgery if lab results tested positive for cancer. Was it scary to hear? Absolutely, but he has to tell you the best/worse case scenario and how he will take care of it. My surgery at White Plains hospital (also high recommended) was booked within a few weeks I found his personality fine- he joked, smiled, took his time answering my questions, there is nothing wrong with his personality. He is a… very focused, detailed, professional experienced surgeon. Even only after meeting with him twice, I had complete confidence in him, which was verified as soon as I woke up from surgery in the recovery room with no pain and my mass removed, the nurse remarked all of Dr. Gretz patients recover so well. I’m 2 weeks out from surgery and I’m completely amazed how well I recovered. Dr. Gretz is a brilliant doctor and surgeon, I highly recommend him!

Absolutely an awful experience by this man very rough during my internal exam, no bedside manner, rude, inconsiderate , spoke down to my husband and I. Left he's office very upset with no clarification on my issue. I would hate to be a newly diagnosed patient have to go and see him. He's nurse Linda and PA were lovely women I don't know how they work with such and arrogant man

I agree with the patients who rave about Dr. Gretz' competence, seriousness, and esteem among colleagues. I've never before encountered a specialist who every other professional recommends is "excellent" and "the one" to see. that is how I came to be Dr. Gretz' patient. I had a complicated fibroid case and felt very comfortable with Dr. Gretz performing the surgery. He answered all my questions in detail and never once talked down to me or made me feel awkward for asking so many questions or for discussing my anxieties with him. The surgery was a success and I recommend him to anyone who wants the best.

He is the most competent doctor I have ever met and moreover is highly respected by his colleagues. If you have a serious problem that absolutely needs excellence in a professional he is the one to see. I actually liked his manner (possibly because he really helped my problem). I think his seriousness is mistaken for coldness.
