Dr. Herbert Calvin Ruckle, MD

I received that dreaded diagnosis, I had prostate cancer! Having been in the medical field for some 50 years, I have seen all the terrible complications and residuals of having prostate cancer. I was referred to Dr. Ruckle for consideration of treatment. He was most thorough with the evaluation and explanation of the possible options for treatment. He explained what he hoped to achieve with each treatment as well as all of the things that could go wrong regardless of the treatment. The final decision was to offer Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy. The anesthesia and operating room staff were all excellent and made me feel comfortable and that I was in good hands. Upon awakening from anesthesia, I was astonished that I had practically no pain. My stomach muscles felt like they were a little bruised but I would rate my pain level at 1 out of 10! I was able to get out of bed and go to the bathroom as soon as the anesthesia wore off. I went home the next morning with a… catheter but actually went in to my office and did paper work that afternoon. The small bag strapped to my leg and inside the pant leg was undetectable. I had planned to take at least 2 weeks off work but I felt I could go back at least to the office the next day. After 10 days the catheter was removed and I was completely continent from day one. Of course I had practiced the Cagle exercises which I had been instructed in and I'm sure that made a big difference in recovering urinary control. Dr. Ruckle's surgical skills and the use of Robotic Assisted Surgery has made a complete game-changer out of radical prostatectomy as I had observed in the past. As you can probably tell by now, I am very grateful for the personal care I received from Dr. Ruckle, his colleagues and his staff. If you are faced with prostate cancer, you could not find a more competent and caring surgeon.

I can highly recommend Dr. Ruckle. He is very caring and listens very well to you and never rushes you. He is your friend not a distant doctor just clicking off appointments. He preformed surgery on me for recurring prostate cancer. I was a very complicated case and he made sure they allowed enough time to do my surgery right. He told me the dangers of doing surgery and gave all the facts I needed to know. He did great job and I know he extended my life. He deserves more than 5 stars!!! Thank you Dr. Ruckle!

This guy is a urologist. While checking guys’ privates, he should be careful they do not feel uncomfortable. However, he has. He was careless during my exam when it came to that some time ago.

I was given 1-1/2 to 2 yrs to live. Dr Ruckle performed a radical prostatectomy on me and I'm still going strong, (with mthly. chemo treatments) after 10 years. If you have to do it...go see Ruckle.
