Dr. Herbert Rand Scott, MD

REALLY I had an appointment with Dr. H. Rand Scott and got food poisoning night before and had to cancel in the am before the appointment in the afternoon. Never saw the JERK but now they rescheduled me for this week and because I was so sick and had to cancel HE refuses to see me!!! I have never met the creep!!! Unbelievable! So they wanted me to come in sick and he is a pain specialist! What a HORRIBLE person he is!!!! Thanks for nothing jerk!!! Don't go see this guy!!! Unbelievable! I would have paid a cancelation fee if asked but the secretary was so sweet and rescheduled saying he was squeezing me in anyway last week so it was no a problem. He is one sick person to do this to a patient! AWFUL!!!!!

Luv Dr. Scott! he is thourough. My primary sent me to him because he has a reputation for treating pain without narcotics. I'm off the strong stuff and can think straight. I wish I had seen him before I was put on the Lortabs by my ortho-it would have saved me a year of "living for lortab". My husband now sees Dr. Scott too. I read the other reviews, and saw the fear of losing lortabs. Just know there is life after lortab, but it takes some hard work.

I have seen dr scott for a few years, and he is the best. I have fibromyalgia, and the 3 doctors before I saw dr scott didn't want to deal with me because I did not want injections. dr scott spends 30 minutes every visit going over every detail, I can now function and have started a family. See dr. scott if you want to see the best in Newport.

I have NEVER IN MY LIFE been treated so badly by a physician, but then again a "God" complex is difficult to deal with. Let's see.. My appt was at 10am and I was asked to be there early for paperwork. I arrived at 9:53 for a 10am appt! I apologized and mentioned that my beloved dog had a heart attack a few days earlier and was critical so I hadn't been had much sleep and was waiting for my mother to arrive to watch over him while I was gone. He came out (of his TOATALLY EMPTY office) and called me late in a condescending tone and as I tried to explain about my dog he told me he didn't care about my excuses and to NEVER be late again or he'd reschedule me.. I wasn't late to begin with. Ok.. So I was verbally abused, called a drug addict for occasional use of .25 mg of Xanax for panic attacks and my use of provigil (Drs use this as well as pilots etc for mental alertness) I opted for this drug in place of aderal..he called my other Drs incompetent and below the standard of care!… Wow..someone who prescribes a 12 % body fat retired pro athlete with a BP of 96/60 klonodine for high blood pressure! I would have died !! I told him mine was only high because I was stressed about my dog and in severe pain. He insulted, belittled, verbally abused, and contradicted me repeatedly about my own health experiences! He then told me he was the best blah blah blah.. Because he went to Penn! Lmao I went to Stanford and USC for my MBA.. So I'm not an uneducated idiot! He was threatening to withhold meds unless I took everything he prescribed and seemed to be an egotistical megalomaniac who has issues with women. I left in full panic attack and could barely breathe but called and cancelled all the meds he called in and then told his office I wasn't interested in using him as my physician.. I'm actually going to report him to the medical board. I am still bruised from the treatment he gave me with his insinuations and I love this! Because I saw 3 Ortho specialists I was Dr shopping although I had the same PM dr the entire time! He insinuated that I was kicked out for abusing my meds! Not true! I brought my records and told him to call my old dr! This man needs serious help!!! He must feel so inferior himself that he has to tear good people down.. Easiest way to find out if I'm a drug addict.. DRUG TEST ME!!! unbelievable! This Dr is disgusting and should have his license revoked. Btw.. He even had the audacity to pretend to know what my green beret physician fiance did on the battlefield and tried to ARGUE with me about it after he called me damaged goods because if my back injuries!! Disgusting!!! What happened to do no harm? I'm literally still in shock from the things he said to me!

After reading the reviews, I feel validation because I experienced the same rudeness and indifference too. While he is a good anesthesiologist, he was a nightmare, even yelling at me minutes before he put me under because I didn't bring all the medications with me that were prescribed for prep for the operation. I was so upset I almost walked out.

I have seen 4 pain doctors over the years and Dr. Scott is the best. I like his staff. He asks questions about my pain and got to the root of the problem. He also did an exam. My other pain docs never did a good exam and did not want me after they did their injections-which didn't help. Now with Dr Scott, after a few months, I still have some pain, but I am much better. I can walk to the market, sit and work at the computer again!

Dr scott is not a doctor and not a pain specialist. He's just some anesthesia guy pretending to do pain. He has the worst bedside manner and is so condescending. He didn't believe a word I said and dismissed everything. It was as if he had already decided in his head that he won't treat my pain before he even walked in the room. He refuses to treat my sciatica with a cortisone injection and he refuses to treat with medications. He kept saying he doesn't believe in this or that for pain. Why is he in pain if he doesn't treat it?! Worst doctor ever--don't see him unless you want to waste 30 minutes of your life. I think he got kicked out of his medical group recently--a lot of other people complained about him.

My visit to Dr. Scott was a life-changer. I had become addicted to Oxycontin after first taking it for my back surgery, and Dr. Scott was the first and only doctor I saw that had the sense enough to wean me off of it. After I stopped using Oxycontin, my life changed completely (and for the better). I can't believe these other reviewers. Dr. Scott was not condescending, but rather punctual and upfront. He's the kind of doctor you need in order to actually treat your pain and not just prescribe more addictive drugs.

This doctor bullied me and threatened to withhold medical care if I didn't take a drug that I couldn't tolerate.He touted his greatness and treated me like a moron in front of my family members. Yes, I have witnesses.
