Dr. Herbert Jay Wisnicki, MD

You might be reading some of the reviews and wondering if. Dr. Wisnicki is that good. He’s that good! I got strabismus surgery earlier this year and it has been a game changer in my life. I am so thankful to Dr. Wisnicki for explaining every step of the process, addressing my concerns, and fixing my lazy eye! By my follow up appointment a week later we were both wondering the same thing- why had I not done this sooner?

I saw Dr. Wisnicki and he treated me like an expert. He performed strabismus surgery on me and has enhanced my vison and life forever. If you or a loved one needs eye surgery, make an appointment with Dr. Wisnicki. I've never been more impressed by a doctor.

Dr. Wisnicki makes you feel very comfortable and has a sense of humor. He gives you all the time you need and answers all your questions. After telling him my problem he was very confident that he could help my strabismus. I was so grateful I gave him a hug.

Dr Wizniki is not any special there are man I am sure much better his smile doesn't make him good . His staff is terrible very unfriendly . I don't know why patients continue seeing him when he was younger he was better now he is pompous and arrogant it shows in his staff .. I will never go back .

My experience at Union Square Eye is the worst I have ever had at a doctors office. I was first made to wait over two hours before I saw Dr Wisnicki. I waited an hour to see an assistant, who took a history, then another hour to see Wisnicki himself. I walked into his office, he asked me to sit down, then *proceeded to answer email for 10 mins* - completely ignoring me, while I sat there like a chump! I was very close to walking out when he deemed to pay some attention to me. He was curt and unfriendly, and when I described my issue as 'amblyopia' he condescendingly asked me 'Do you know what that means?". Yes, Dr Wisnicki I *do* know what it means, as my answer showed you. I've been amblyopic since birth, and I'm pretty well educated, and I take my heath seriously. I don't think I have ever been so insulted by a medical professional in my life. He then gave me a very cursory examination, and that was it. So - I waited two hours for about 10 mins of actual contact time, which… mostly consisted of being disrespected and condescended to. There is no way I will ever go back to Union Square Eye Care, and I would encourage anyone to avoid them like the plague.

Nothing but the best. Very high tech office...you have to see it. Clearly built to make patients comfortable. Friendly staff. First rate care. No wonder they are in demand.

Dr Wisnicki is an excellent doctor but the wait time to see him is ridiculous. A simple follow up visit yielded a wait over 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was ready to walk out. There is no reason for doctors to keep their patients waiting this long for routine visits. I will think twice before returning.

My highest recommendation! I was a patient of another, very high-end, ophthalmology practice for over 30 years. But when I developed an unusual problem, they couldn't help me. In fact, I never heard from them again! Luckily my primary doctor sent me to Dr. Wisnicki who not only diagnosed the problem but organized and supported my care during the 3 years it took to resolve this serious issue. He is a wonderful, caring surgeon, and his referral of me to an additional surgeon - an occular-plastics specialist - was excellent as well. Dr. Wisnicki's office staff is great - from the front-desk folk to the surgical coordinator to the in-house optician who helped me order new glasses finally. Great experience overall.

I needed to come in for an emergency, and Dr. Wisnicki was available after hours...took care of my problem...and even called me the next day (also after hours on a weekend) to make sure I was doing better (which I was!).Can't thank him enough...and also, a wonderful, friendly office that doesn't feel or look like a typical doctors' office/medical facility.
