Herbert Zerth IIi, MD

Dr. Zerth is compassionate and and excellent doctor. Went in for kidney stones and he helped me get though relatively easily.

I was in the emergency room yesterday and saw Dr. Herbert Zerth ... I was admitted to the ER he was my doctor he gave me no type of medicine that helped when I told him I felt like I was gonna say and I was in pain he discharged me did not answer any of my questions and would not give me an anti-acid pill just to help my stomach he told me I needed to go to Walgreens which opened at 9 AM keep in mind it’s 6 AM and I’m in pain and I cannot drive a vehicle to Walgreens. I was admitted to the ER he was my doctor he gave me no type of medicine that helped when I told him I felt like I was gonna say and I was in pain he discharged me did not answer any of my questions and would not give me an anti-acid pill just to help my stomach he told me I needed to go to Walgreens which opened at 9 AM keep in mind it’s 6 AM and I’m in pain and I cannot drive a vehicle to Walgreens. once leaving I told him I wanted to wait for the pharmacy at the hospital because I won’t be able to get to Walgreens and… he told me I can wait in the waiting room when I was covered in sweat and in pain and then I told the nurse I was going to faint and she told me no I wasn’t. If you go to the emergency room ask for a different doctor do not go to this man even all of his reviews I have been looking at I’m shocked to why he still works there this man needs to be under review.

If I could give less than 1 star I would do so. If this is your ER doctor, leave the hospital immediately. The Dr. discharged my husband with out a 2nd glance under a misguided assumption that he was seeking drugs. My husband was admitted to Elmhurst hospital the next day and after a 5 day stay there is still on IV antibiotics at home and is in jeopardy of losing a limb to acute osteomylitis. Dr Zerth dismissed his pain immediately and didn't even bother to send his blood work to the lab. It was still sitting on the tray when we left. Horrible horrible experience from an otherwise stellar hospital.

He discharged my sister from the ED at night 40miles from home in a taxi by HERSELF after she had been in the hospital for over a month and in a residential treatment facility actively suicidal. My sister died by suicide hours later.
