Dr. Herman Charles Heikkenen, MD

Went to him when I first moved here, accepting new patients and Medicare. Obviously quirky and odd but as long as I felt he was a good doctor, didn't care. Very unprofessional, combat boots without laces, khakis, sloppy Tshirt. Continued seeing him until he became so condescending and overbearing. Told me I was STUPID for getting Covid vax and boosters, because he's "a Republican and knows it's all BS." Apparently can't type because he literally YELLS into a computer for transcription, NO PRIVACY! He fired me when I needed to delay an appointment. BEST THING he ever did for me, now have professional doctor!

This " dr" is a nut job. He uses his exam table as a desk, during covid doesn't wear a mask, and refused to see me and husband when I asked to extend my visit from 6 months to once a year. No issues with blood work, heart or any x Ray's. No need to go twice a year. He refused to see us again, and when I questioned him..I was told to escort myself out of his " office" save yourself the time, and look elsewhere. He spent most of our consultation speaking I to his computer with head phones, and giving false info, such as my BP was stable, when our BP was never taken. No temp taken, no covid screen. Seriously, stay clear of this guy

I like doctor Heilkkenen and think he is competent and very thorough. I have always been able to get in to see him on short notice. He does not mince words and gets right to the point. He doesn't waste my time with feel good rhetoric and unwanted advice. If he is comfortable with a medical problem he will advise, and if not he will refer you to a specialist. I would highly recommend him unless you are a narcissist.

Been going to Dr. H for years. I'm 70, lived a lot of places and had a lot of MD's...and he is the best one yet. Patient, direct, and caring. I really appreciate his candor and determination to provide me the best medical experience possible. Will faithfully go to Dr. H as long as he is in practice....hopefully for years to come.

Dr. Heikkinen has been my family practitioner for 10 years. I have gotten to know him not only as my doctor but as a friend. As a 85 year man with five surgeries over the last five years I have met a lot of doctors . Dr. Heikkinen has cared for me as if I was his father. He continually makes sure I follow up to see the preventive specialists I should see to keep me well and healthy. Hi office staff is very helpful and professional. I highly recommend doctor Heikkinen.

This man is just unbelievable. I went into his office with my parents as he was their primary care physician. He is very rude, actually yelled at my mother. His offices are filthy. God forbid he had to suddenly exam you because the exam table is covered with papers and his laptop that he never stops talking into the entire time you are with him. In one breath he is telling my father he needs to go to emergency immediately, then his cell phone rings and he walks out of the room to talk to his girlfriend who needs a ride???? Are you kidding me? So unprofessional, I was appalled. Needless to say I am changing my father's primary care physician and let him know that. So in retaliation he sends a letter to my mother that he is withdrawing from further professional medical care for her...as if I would EVER let her go back to him. I renamed him Dr Whackadoodle and it is very fitting!!

messy, filthy, dusty, non compliant

My husband and I have been his patients for 7 years and feel we have been fortunate to meet such a good doctor. He is a family practice doctor with a clear approach to health care. When ever we needed health care, outside of regular exams, he has been thorough and referred us to excellent medical specialist. If you need to be pampered he is not the doctor for you.

I am new to the area, was very sick with cold and UTI , his receptionist was very kind and helpful and got me in that morning. The Dr. started shooting questions at me for a full physical and talking in his recorder. I observed my surroundings and realized how dirty his exam room was. He had his computer on the exam table with pens dust all around it. The floor was filthy and you could see the marks from his chair scooting through it. I went through the motions of listening to my lungs but his stethoscope was too high on my shoulders for lung sounds. He also told me to say ahh and whipped a light by real fast, no way he saw the back of my throat. He wanted me to do all kinds of labs, chest X-ray follow up apts ect. I was so uncomfortable finally got an RX for antibiotics. The next day I called and told them I would not be back and Told the receptionist what I have written here. I am a nurse with many years of experience and this was not the quality of care that anyone should be… subject to.

Where else will you find a doctor and staff who will go above and beyond for his patients? I have never been more pleased knowing that my health is in good hands with a caring Dr. it also helps that his office gal always greets me with a nice warm smile she seems to make sure every patient feels special.If you are looking for a good Dr and friendly environment this is where ya wanna be.
