Suazo is a nut !!!!!

After being admitted into the hospital at Dr. Sauzo's request, he was very dismissive and condescending toward the other doctors attending to my husband. He would make inappropriate references about the attending floor doctor and on multiple occasions commented on the treatment the urologist was giving and predicted urologist was going prolong the treatment so that we would have to make multiple office visits just so he could get more money from us. (This of course was absolutely untrue and my husband received excellent care from this particular doctor) After three days, the other two doctors treating my husband cleared him to be released. Dr. Suazo did not want to release him, but when we asked him for his medical reasons and to help us understand, he got very defensive. He told us that he would not stop my husband from being released, accused us of having a bad attitude, and that if we acted like that to the admitting doctor, he would release my husband because they would "want the… bed for someone else". He promptly left the room without explaining his reasons or answering our questions about my husbandâ??s aftercare. It was also at this point that we found out that my husband was being given medicine and treatments Dr. Suazo didn't â??approveâ?? of. My husband was in the hospital for THREE days, and Suazo visited each day. The fact that he did not know the exact treatment my husband was having is upsetting because it shows that he did not bother to look at my husbandâ??s chart one time while he was admitted. Thankfully we had an excellent nurse who went above and beyond to get all of our questions answered. The day after we went home, we received a call from Suazoâ??s nurse who told my husband that he was absolutely shocked that my husband was released from the hospital â?? but didnâ??t want to see him for another month. Because of the nature of my husbandâ??s condition, there is the potential for unexpected hospital visits, additional office visits and others things, I applied for internment FMLA due to the amount of time Iâ??m away from work. It was approved by my insurance and only needed Suazoâ??s signature. He reviewed it and refused to sign it on the premise that he canâ??t predict when or if my husband will be in the hospital, his visits with my husband are only 30 minutes (I work and hour away, we wait 30 minutes in the waiting room, another 20 in the exam room and spend 30 minutes with him â?? while he answers his phone during our visit â?? then and hour back to work for me. So it is easily a 4 hour experience for US) and that the form does not apply to him at all. He is the main doctor treating my husband for his chronic condition, so Iâ??m not sure how it doesnâ??t apply to him. I asked his nurse to have him call me to discuss when he had time. She told me she would pass it on, but couldnâ??t promise that we would take the time to call me. Obviously he does not understand (or care) what FMLA is for, how it works or what it does to protect his patients and their family. Since the hospital stay, weâ??ve has less than pleasant dealings with him and his staff. We are in the process of finding a better doctor to treat my husband. Unless you want a doctor who does not tolerate his actions being questioned, I do not recommend Suazo at all.
