Dr. Herriet Villareal Tupas-Levitan, MD

My cousin was a patient of this very unprofessional doctor, and I was astounded by the way she was treated. At the age of 61, my cousin was laid off from a job she had had for many years and this doctor proceeded to berate her, attack her clothes, told her to die her hair, asked if she even had any nice clothes. A personal attack is not what’s needed from your physician, and nobody should leave the office in tears due to a personal affront such as this. I would not allow her to treat my dog, much less any human being. Who does she think she is and where did she get the right to belittle her patients?? Nope, nope, nope. If I could rate her a zero, I would.

I was recently hospitalized by this physician who has been my internist for many years. She knew when I went to see her that I was very sick and had me go directly to the hospital! She was my physician in the hospital, instead of a hospitalist! I really like that she assembled a team of physicians, whom I was already seeing, and I was able to have my own pulmonologist perform a procedure that was needed. I feel I received continuing care from all my current doctors and now in the process of receiving follow-up care. Thank you, Dr. Tupas-Levitan, for continuing my great care!

Thorough medical knowledge and compassionate.

If I could have checked zero I would. Warning, this is not the doc you want to see, this was our initial visit. She was combative, condescending, degraded us, just simply bat crazy and to be truthful mean. I have never had an experience like this in my life with a doctor. The worst of the worst. Made it clear she would never see our faces again and we would post a very honest review to save anyone from this kind a treatment. An embarrassment to the medical field!

This is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever met. During your first appointment, she will take a lot of time with you, be personable and ask many questions. This will never happen again. If at any subsequent appointment you ask questions that either require more detailed explanation and/or take up more than the allotted 5 minutes of time, she will become extremely unprofessional. She is insulting, rude and angers quickly, and has no problem berating a patient in front of her staff.

SHE IS WONDERFUL AND KIND. Smart and always gets it right. A doctor that will never disappoint you.

Visited a female internist for the first time, and she was wonderful! She was astute, listened to me patiently and accurately diagnosed my medical issues. She is very sympathetic and I was extremely pleased. Overall, would highly recommend her!

I have never been treated so poorly by a professional. She doesn't look at or talk to the patient - only looks at the small laptop screen she carries with her. When making a diagnosis gives you a multiple choice question to make it yourself. Amount of time spent with patient is down to a science. She gets up and walks out mid sentence when you're time is up. Would never recommend this doctor.

As this website solicits opinions of doctors, here is my abbreviated opinion.I had a very poor experience with this person, and do not recommend her at all.

Most thorough physical exam I have ever experienced in 50 years going to countless doctors. She is the best!
