Biography
My background is in pharmacology. I have been a registered pharmacist for the past 20 years. What inspired me to become an anesthesiologist was my interest in interacting with patients and helping them through procedures such as surgery. My knowledge in the field of pharmacy continues to help me in my everyday work as an anesthesiologist.

About my practice
My work philosophy is simple: Give 110% dedication to the task at hand, mainly patient care and comfort. After all, that's what anesthesiologists doâ€"they help reduce a patient’s anxiety and make surgical procedures painless and less stressful. I enjoy meeting anxious patients who, after a little conversation and a bit of humor, relax and worry less before the pharmacological approach is ever used. I truly believe in teamwork and assisting my medical colleagues. The ability to work in harmony with surgeons, nurses, and …anesthesiologists was instilled in me during my four years of residency and subsequent years of practice in hospital settings.

I enjoy every single moment of my time being a Kaiser Permanente anesthesiologist and wouldn't change a thing if I had the chance to do it all again.

How I thrive
During my time off I like to escape from everyday life by playing music, mainly percussion and drums. I enjoy long walks with my wife and two mini-Maltese dogs. I also paint abstract acrylic paintings and hope to have my own gallery someday.

I have to admit that prior to becoming a Kaiser Permanente physician I had not the time or desire to stay fit. But it’s hard to work here and not run into a poster or sign that reminds you of the benefits of an active lifestyle! I am slowly becoming conscious of my eating and activity level. That's what I like most about Kaiser Permanente...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
