Dr. Hideaki Leo Tanaka, MD

I was present during a medical visit with Dr. Tanaka and was surprised to hear him make unsolicited political comments about RFK. It’s concerning to see a healthcare professional bring personal political opinions into a clinical setting. Medical consultations should remain focused on the patient’s health, not politics.

Please remember this Dr TANAKA. What ever he was going through that day or if he was truly hating on me because of my race(we are both Asian)or belittling me because of my insurance. Tanaka is evil & for what ever world had made this mad man think he has the power to use his doctor label to act innocent and mistreat me wrong in the emergency room then pretend he did NOTHING. I was left with trauma & confusion. Here is my story. We are from out of state, was here for a family trip, my 10 year old son did a flip in the swimming pool & slammed on his nose, came in to check if he had a broken nose & concussion. We got sleepy so fell asleep waiting, & was woken up by this Tanaka from the emergency room to go to a little exam room that is still in the emergency department. He didn't introduce himself, he just evaluated my son & said he believes my son has a broken nose. Then suddenly this Tanaka said "what do you want me to do?" I told him what ever he suggested, he starts blowing up that he… doesn't want to do a CT SCAN because my son is a child & explained what radiation could do to him. I was surprised & confused at what he said because I did NOT request ANYTHING, again I explain, he is the dr so what ever he suggested & he still went on with his body annoyed gesture movement coming at me that he will not do the CT scan & asked what I wanted to do, & I told him I don't understand what the message he is trying to relay to me so I frantically ask "do you want me to leave? Because I'm confused & I'm not understanding what you are trying to ask me." at this point he was so in rage & sounded so pissed so I told him I don't tolerate his attitude towards me, & guess what he did? He said "well I don't tolerate your attitude either, I'm getting the nurse"he walked away,& I started crying because I seriously had NO clue what happened, didn't know how to process this, I seriously didn't know what he was trying to do. He brings the nurse & this Tanaka seemed like a totally new person, like TOTALLY this "gentlemen" who came to the rescue. This nurse was telling me all this doctor wanted to do was help me & want to explain that he doesn't want to do the CT scan that quote I asked for quote, I was even more shocked & told the nurse I NEVER once requested a CT scan on my son, I told him what EVER he suggest so that we can figure out if my son had a broken nose or not, & Tanaka interrupted that part, he said "WE ALREADY KNOW HE HAS A BROKEN NOSE" & then I was like??? Ok so then do your job & suggest what should be done. I don't understand why he's making me sound like I'm BEGGING for this CT scan that I never once even lay a word of or even thought one bit of. Then! Tanaka goes & said "you're the one complaining you've been here for hours & hours & hours so I came out to help YOU." I was so shock I couldn't even say anything anymore because never once I complained about being here for hours, in fact we weren't EVEN here for hours, we barely got here & waited silently then got sleepy, so at this point, this Tanaka guy is either mixing me up with SOMEONE else or he's using his "POWER" to manipulate this situation. I'm hurt, I was completely in tears and he act like he was this total new sweet guy. This nurse told me to "squish" all this because Tanaka did already. I'm like?? At this point I just need to have my son situated in & out, I stood in silent & in pain of how this played out. There was so much more to this but I'm going to fill what impacted me most, & to TOP this, he requested a CT scan after saying no to it without my consent which was cancelled after another talk & THEN did the xray & guess what?? This Tanaka was so SURE that my son had a broken nose, Tanaka brought the result in, my son DIDNT have a broken nose, thank God for that as we were able to leave asap! I hope he will learn from this and never do such a horrible job again. And should his mom and wife be Asian and see this review, I know they know his personality and will probabl
