This man should be ashamed of himself and his behavior which was alarming, predatory and disgusting. On a scale of 1-10 I would give him a -100 and that is being kind. His behavior was inappropriate, bizarre, disgusting and terrifying.
I parted ways with my PCP, I was abruptly released from care because of “missed appointments” when a missed appointment is anything canceled the day of (I am unable to drive, I have two small children and a husband who can’t always get off work as intended). I have a complex medical history and case so going without care is not an option. I also ran out of my nausea medicine, I get extremely sick without it, that I have been on for two years. I chose this “doctor” because I wanted to refill my nausea medicine and see if he would be a good fit for a PCP. I left in tears and without the medication mid-appointment and here is why.
When I made my appointment I explained that I did not have my insurance card because my wallet had been stolen the week… prior but provided the information that all other doctor offices have used to look it up. When I walked in the door nobody greeted me, I walked up to the desk and one of the women sitting in the front office announced that she had been trying to contact me because she needed to verify my insurance. I told her I had sent her the information and she said that I did not give her anything useful. I explained I did not have my card and offered to call my husband or the insurance agency to figure it out. I received the information from my husband, I handed it in with my paperwork and all of a sudden I heard the loud receptionist, China probably heard her too, as she called three different branches of my insurance agency letting them know “I have a patient who provided no useful information”, “I can’t give you the group number because she wrote the policy number there clearly not understanding” “she has an appointment now but gave us nothing important” and at one point they asked for my husbands social, which I had and could have given to her, and she said “his social? I can’t give you that because she must have been clueless as to what is needed.” The doctor came out, she asked him if he accepted Blue Cross, he said yes and all of a sudden that was okay. Then he walked up to the receptionist who let him know I had no ID and no insurance card, he answered in Japenese and then they proceeded to talk about me, in Japenese while flipping through my paperwork, with me right there. The only good thing about this was the medical assistant who took my vitals, she was kind, caring and compassionate. I hope she runs from that office at the first chance she gets.
Then “doctor” Kimiura came in, no introduction, and said “I am not prescribing you opiates.” I was extremely taken aback by this. I was very clear that I was there for nausea medicine and to see if he would be a good fit for my PCP. I have not taken opiates for three years and, when they were prescribed, I never abused them and was on them while I was completely paralyzed from the waist down for two years, wheelchair bound, and in horrible pain. I told him I knew he was not going to prescribe opiates and I was not asking for them.
What happened next was just bizarre, inappropriate and predatory. He asked me why I did not have my identification card and insurance card. I told him my wallet had been stolen but I had my bank card, my sons soccer card, our credit cards, my Costco card, etc and he asked me to get them despite the loud lady verifying who I was through all of the information she acquired verifying my insurance not to mention the detailed paperwork, with all of my diagnosis, accessible on my chart that he had literally just looked at. As I was getting that out he asked me how I had those if my wallet was stolen (I explained they were in a different purse and he replied “doubtful”), asked where I filed the report, what police department, what police officer, demanded to know the date and I stated it was “three or four days ago”, he said I needed to be “more specific”, I asked him why he was interrogating me and he asked me if I was refusing to answer the question, I gave him a date and he got his pad out and started writing and asked “so when I call (police department) they will say on (date) you filed a report with (officer) that your identification and insurance were stolen?” This is not an exaggeration, I was appalled at this point, I did not understand what was going on, he acted like I had comitted a crime, he kept repeating that he was going to call them and that is when I became terrified of his aggressive behavior. I explained to him that there were car break-ins all over our community and he made it clear he was checking my story for god knows what reason. I knew then that I wanted to leave but he shut the door and was sitting right there. I was afraid to try. His behavior became increasingly worse, more agitated and bizarre.
He started going through my medical history. I have a complex case with the following diagnosis: paralyzed from the waist down for 2 years with lingering nimbleness and tingling, neuropathy, nerve damage, nerve disorder, complex migraines, ovarian cysts, tachycardia, liver disease, swollen lymph nodes all throughout my body including on top of my ribs, swollen lymph nodes in my neck, Fibromyalgia, trigeminal neuralgia, back and neck issues (herniated disc, collapsed disc, spinal stenosis, bone spurs), severe nausea and vomiting, anxiety, neurological disorder, etc. As he started going through my medical history he continued to make it an interogation instead of a doctor patient appointment. He demanded to know what medications had been tried but I have had medical issues that date years back, with many different opinions, second opinions, specialists, doctors, etc. We have done hundreds of tests and tried hundreds of
