Dr. Hina Ali, MD

Since they've been taken over by Brown Univ Health, it's gotten worse. They don't answer the phone when calling for an appt., Msgs for a return call, meds, etc. don't get returned. If so, Ali reaches out long after you need her. She's always out of the office or out of town. The staff used to be more helpful, but now good luck getting any help at all.

Good luck getting someone to call you with lab results or just getting them or meds ordered in a timely fashion. Dr is only in the office one day a wk. When you first go there, everyone makes you think they're so willing to go out of their way to help you with anything until it's actually time to get help, then you're on your own. If you send msgs thru the portal to the dr, it takes about a wk & a half before you get a response from her or anyone, if you're lucky. The place as a whole is a joke. Based on what I've experienced, the patient is seen as an object on an assembly line. When explaining what I was feeling, the "nurse" and dr weren't really listening. It's obvious when I checkout and the visit summary doesn't correspond w/what I told them or what they told me. They spend more time typing on a laptop than actually doing an exam and listening. The dr misdiagnosed me even though I wasn't having any of the symptoms of what she said I tested positive for (they used a rapid test)… before and after the test, but she prescribed meds I didn't need. When I insisted I didn't have the illness, she/the support staff wouldn't retest me to make sure the diagnosis was correct.

The office is very unorganized. The dr is only in the office one day a week. She's slow to respond to inquiries or getting meds/tests ordered. Getting an appt. is also difficult. The staff is nice, but not too well versed.

She told me that using a vaporizer was "much worse" than smoking cigarettes. That is medically ludicrous advice; many pulmonary specialists recommend vaping to patients who smoke. There is NO evidence to make such a statement. In fact, the only reliable published report says vaping is "at least 95% less harmful than smoking cigarettes." I can't trust a doctor that casually makes incorrect statements like that, and then doesn't support it with articles, research or facts.
