Dr. Hiroko Beck, MD

I first met Dr. Beck about five years ago when she and my cardiologist began discussing implantation of a pacemaker. It was our collective decision to not go forward with the procedure. About six months ago, I began experiencing difficulties catching my breath and sleeping. Again, my cardiologist suggested consulting with Dr. Beck. This time we collectively decided to proceed with the implantation. Dr. Beck explained all risks, options, and potential complications. I had absolute confidence in her abilities and skills! The out come of the surgery has been life changing.

This is a very caring doctor. With excellent patient skills.

We first met Dr beck in 2014 when my dad was in MICU at buff gen. He's got an extensive cardiac history stemming from familial Heart disease = huge MI when he was just 38 years old. My dad was full time employeed plus a football coach and a full time dad. He was by all accounts very healthy. And then suddenly he had a huge heart attack and nearly died. That was in 1990. He's been essentially high functioning despite residual cardiomyopathy ever since. Iron Mike we call him. Then in 2014 he went into a LLLOOONNNGGG run ( 8 hours ish ) of ventricular tachycardia. He defibrillated repeatedly. And Dr Beck took over his care from the moment mercy flight landed at BGH. She is exceptional. She's very driven, highly skilled and very caring toward my dad and all of us. My mother is a retired RN. I am a Cardiac RN ( go figure ) so I know when I see shotty care. And I definitely recognize excellence. Dr Beck is excellence and beyond. I thank her in my brain for every day I have my dad. I'm… quite sure if anyone else had taken over, I wouldn't be so lucky.
