Dr. Hoang Manh Nguyen, DO

Warning, Must read! (Long review) I went to see Dr. Nguyen when moving back to the Bay area last May. I was recommended by family whom he treats. I went to the doctor with a diagnosis of a 4cm aortic aneurysm. While this issue was quickly put aside he decided to put me on a 48 hr holter monitor at home. I was told I have SVT and sent home to repeat the test. The SVT diagnosis was confirmed again. I was then put on blood pressure medication and scheduled to come back a couple months later. At this next appointment I was told I now have confirmed AFIB and that he wants me on blood thinners. He told me I was at a serious risk of having a stroke. This seemed quite concerning to me so I did further research on the doctor and was alarmed by his reviews. I immediately sought a second opinion with a Stanford Medical cardio specialist. They pulled Dr. Nguyens records and said there were no signs of AFIB from his test done on me. I have since had a treadmill stress test that has come back… normal. There were no arrhythmias found and besides my aneurysm things were normal. Not only was I completely misdiagnosed, but this man almost had me on blood thinners for life. I am epileptic and had I started the blood thinners and had a seizure I could have hit my head and gotten a brain bleed. Resulting in DEATH. I do not know if this is a common practice of his, to misdiagnose people to retain them to stack up patients or if he is truly just that ignorant. How a cardiologist can make such a huge mistake is beyond me and certainly not a forgivable offense. Do not see this doctor at any cost if you value your heart health. With regards to his office staff they have a huge problem respecting patients' privacy. My elderly mother goes to him, as I stated earlier, and there were multiple times my HIPPA rights were ignored and my poor 70 year old mother came to me upset that I had serious heart issues. The stress this has caused my family, including myself is inexcusable. A detailed review will certainly not be the end of this. I will be contacting the state medical board to lodge a formal complaint against him and his staff. Please do your research on this doctor as it is your life in his hands.

He is not professional, and now we realize he screwed up my sisters surgery. Hmmmm

DR seams to know his stuff but the office is run unprefessionally. Long wait times, DR is slow to and/or refuses to complete any paperwork you may need. Do whay I did, find another doctor.
