Dr. Holbert Clay Hodges

Dr. Hodges did not provide my mother with the level of care we expected during her emergency room visit. She came to the ER in severe pain following a car accident and had also recently been hospitalized for sepsis and a serious kidney infection. During the visit, Dr. Hodges stated that my mother could not still be sick if the hospital had already discharged her. I explained that she had been very ill throughout the day after leaving the hospital and that I was concerned about her condition, including the possibility of a blood clot. Rather than addressing those concerns, I felt that he laughed them off. I also asked if my mother could receive pain medication because she was in significant pain from the extensive bruising she sustained in the car accident, as well as from her recent illness. She had large blue bruises covering much of her body. Despite her condition, Dr. Hodges did not examine her, check her breathing, or perform what appeared to be a physical assessment. Instead,… after I expressed concern about her pain, he discharged her after approximately 10 minutes in the emergency department. Throughout the interaction, I felt that he spoke to me in a disrespectful and dismissive manner when I tried to explain how much pain my mother was experiencing.

Provider is arrogant, and condescending. He refers to the ER nurses as "Just bedside nurses with no authority." The only treatment that is acceptable to him, is the one that he came up with. Any further suggestions will be declined in a condescending inappropriate way. I am just working here temporarily, and am mortified at what the people of this area have to accept as healthcare. Please send him to anger management and find a new compassionate provider. Also the 80's called, and want their mullet back.

If he walks in you better get out! Horrible physician, awful bedside manner, will not take time to address your issue, is arrogant, and the worse part is he looks homeless and greasy! He didn’t look at my mom’s current tests- which by the way were very relevant to her issue. He then blamed her for not telling him. He told us he didn’t have time for us and I told him to please put his priorities in order then and go. He asked me very rudely “how do you think I need to treat her”? “What do you want”? Wow!! How professional! Then when I told them we were not signing the discharge paperwork because we were not treated and we were not explained anything clearly. The RN got a major attitude. He spoke over me and get in my mom’s face and told her it’s not for her to decide you sign this and stressed her out. Ask for another Doctor! And he is supposed to be the ER director WTH!!! You have got to be joking with me! Look at his specialties- if you have a good ole case of constipation from… opioids- go see him! And if you have a scalp issue he’s your guy lol! And to top it off it’s no wonder he won’t treat anyone and looks homeless- he is a holistic doctor.
