Dr. Holly Gilreath Coleman, MD

I have read these reviews and could not disagree more. I started seeing Dr. Holly in 2018 if it had not been for her I don’t know where I would be. Absolutely AMAZING woman! Her staff over the years have changed but the current ones seem to know what needs to be done. I would recommend anyone to see her and any of the other doctors there.

I went there to receive postmenopausal help since I am 72 yr. old. There is no Dr. Holly Coleman at the Gainesville, GA office, only a Dr. Barrell, although Dr. Holly Coleman's name is advertised and her name is on the prescriptions. You can only talk to Dr. Barrell by appointment, although it is not worth it and you will regret you ever took her advice. I went there for the Biote hormone implant which is inserted under the skin. Even though I had lab tests beforehand to determine my hormone levels, what she inserted in me had me suffer with a fast heartbeat for months. Also, the oral progesterone I had to take every day, gave me Acid Reflux and ruined my stomach permanently. Whenever I would call to ask for advice, Dr. Barrell was always too busy and never available. This is an unethical practice that should cease to exist.

I am deeply disappointed to have to make a review like this. I am not a "review" person but hope this deters someone out there who is looking for professional gynecological care. I was told after two rounds of bloodwork and an ultrasound that I likely had an aggressive and very dangerous ovarian cancer. After a CT was performed. A few days later, I had a follow up phone call regarding the scan, which was clear. The nurse could not explain the discrepancy between the alarming bloodwork and CT scan. I asked for the doctor to call me back. Instead of the doctor (Leigh Barrell) calling me, she had a second nurse call who was also unable to answer my questions. She then said that Drs. Barrell and Coleman suggested a "lab error" and wanted to redo the bloodwork. (Who suggests the horror of cancer as flippantly as she did and then says she thinks there was an error in bloodwork?) The gist of the story is...I thankfully do NOT have ANY type of cancer...and now have almost $1000 in bills from… Quest Diagnostics for the bloodwork because they sent it to the wrong lab, thus being out of network for my BCBS HMO policy. Disappointment after disappointment.

I cannot recommend this office to anyone. It is the most unprofessional office staff that I have ever been in contact with. No one answers the phone and no one will return phone calls. When I got my test results back they said “look it up on the portal for your results”. After scheduling me a follow up appointment that I was not aware of, When I did not go to the appointment that I was unaware of they charged me a $50 late fee. I finally did reach someone a few months ago to discuss this and they said they would take care of it but I never heard back from anyone. Just a very unprofessional place.

I absolutely love Holly. She was the ONLY gyno out of 4 that understood how to treat my horrible infection. After a miserable year, and at my worse, she figured it out and had me on the correct meds within a couple of weeks. I was completely healed and freely kept up in medications for when/if my infection returned. Check Paps with information on card. I have never been treated badly by anyone at Holly's office. She has time to listen about family and always asks. Lovely, professional lady with a giving heart.

Great experience. I am glad to have found a doctor that listens to me and takes her time. Very nice receptionist and staff. Her office location is very convenient and I was able to park near the door. I would highly recommend!

Dr. Coleman was very professional and addressed my problem even though I was scheduled a wellness visit, that I then had to reschedule. I was impressed by how she took time to listen and made eye contact when we were talking about my problem. It is nice to go somewhere that you can park close and walk in and get to talk to somebody quickly.

Rude, condescending, inaccurate diagnoses, shames you for not going with synthetic options.

I absolutely love Dr. Coleman. I drive 5 hours just to see her. She has been there for me, any time I have ever needed her (even emotionally) for several years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend making her your doctor in the future.

On my initial visits, I was very pleased with this doctor and staff. Over time, however, I realized that they were quite pleasant as long as there was no issue. On two occasions, I had unusual requests, and the staff was flat-out rude to me. In one case, the staff person actually snorted at me. I made it plain that I didn't appreciate it. The next time I went in, I was asked to resign the form that the doctor has all patients sign -- the one making it plain that she will tolerate no disrespect to her staff. The doctor did not once ask me what happened. She was not interested in my perspective or my experience with her staff. I immediately switched doctors. On my first visit with my new doctor, she did an ultrasound and found endometriosis. Coleman had all of my symptoms, but did not once explore that route. I do not recommend her to anyone.
