Dr. Holly Mutton, DO

I have been seeing Dr. Mutton for around six years because there are few psychiatrists in the area that accept my insurance. She only talks about herself, seems to have an extremely limited understanding of mental health, and has been incapable of properly refilling medications recently. Every meeting with her is a long rant about what is going on with her life, and she will interrupt you if you try to get on target. Due to the pandemic there are very few mental health professionals accepting new patients and although I've been required to keep seeing this one, please keep looking for your child.

My daughter is a current patient. We're NOT happy and looking elsewhere. My 18yr and 3mo old daughter forgot to request a refill. I've always handled but can't now because of her adult status. She is special needs. I went ahead and requested the refill for her...the MORNING of Christmas Eve while many doctors have patients this day. Since I'm not psychic, I didn't know she was off for the holiday. I received a text back scolding me while threatening a late request fee. We had never needed meds short notice before. We also sit through extremely long appts...even the telehealth appts were centered around herself! What all these other reviews state is 100% accurate. Sick a lot. Talks politics. Talks about herself and boo hoo her about her foot...for years!!! She clearly needs some psychological help herself ..and I mean that in a caring concerned way. I wish I read reviews a long time ago.

My son was her patient for a few years and then she blew up at me for asking for a medication refill while we she was on vacation. Then went into a big rant how I had to pay her an extra $25 for the late refill. She just texted us the week before to schedule an apt, which he needs for her to continue to write scripts for him, but she she didn’t just send a refill? I agree 100% with the other reviewers on here, she spends 95% of the appointment talking about herself and her boyfriend, or father in Florida, than talking to my son. After her rant about how dare I text her for a refill on vacation, I called her office saying we were leaving the practice. I received another nasty text message saying the office called her to notify her we were leaving her practice ON HER VACATION......she followed up by sending a long letter to our pediatrician stating that she believes the only reason I left the group was because of e $25 fee for a late refill request. She didn’t even ask me why we were… leaving, because I gladly would have told her it’s because I know more about her than she knows about my son!

I saw Dr. Mutton a few times but each visit she talked excessively about herself, what’s going on in the world and how SHE felt about it, the tv shows SHE is watching and HER boyfriend. She did not ask me many questions and I didn’t feel there was any opportunity to share what was going on with me. Each visit felt like I was there for her verses her being there for me.

Dr Mutton is wacky!!! She talks about herself and goes off on rants about her life, catching raccoons, skunks, her boyfriend. She called and screamed at my daughter about not following through with her “orders”, not had a civilized calm conversation, but screamed at her. She is very unprofessional, disrespectful, rude, condescending. My daughter hung up on her and I could not have been more proud for sticking up for herself. She called my daughter a liar, said she’s just going to take her off of all medication because she doesn’t care. This woman is actually crazy and needs medication herself. If you get an immediate appointment with a psychiatrist, there’s a reason why, they are a horrible dr. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO HER!!!!!

Horrible person, very rude, terrible bedside manner and unbelievably condescending! She initially changed my child's meds(which were working to some degree) and wouldn't listen when we begged her to change it again. We had severe behavior changes - including violence, crying jags and a level of frustration we'd not seen before or since. The behavior stopped as soon as we stopped the medication. She spent an entire session on the results of an election SHE was upset about. When she had a problem with me, she childishly carried on with my child instead of (as an adult) addressing me personally.

Am not a fan of this Dr. So rude. I am a person who likes to hear it as it is. I rarely have such a negative reaction to a person. Very difficult to believe that she is allowed to work with adolescents. I as an adult, was floored as to her demeanor and manners. She is rude and very insulting. My husband and I truly believe she needs to see a professional herself, if she is not. We were very disappointed. Had we taken her diagnosis and advice, our son would not be as far a long as he is now.

I was very hesitant to take my child to see Dr. Mutton but she was referred by a social worker, a pediatrician and physiologist. All 3 of these professionals told is to give her a chance and not make a decision on th first appointment. My child has been seeing her for over a year and have to say she is wonderful. She tells is like it is. Last night was our last appointment as my child has been taken off of all meds. Dr, Mutton worked with us to ensure our child can adjust without meds. My child has no problem taliking with her. She is always available to us via cell or via office. If we needed to see a physicalist I would defiantly go see her.
