Holly Lynn Shemami

On 10 Nov I went to Holly Shemami for laser hair removal; she left me with severe second degree burns all over my legs that coincided with the black marker she used to draw on me. It was been 4 months and the burn marks are still there and I have been informed they are likely permanent. The burns were so painful that I had to go to Urgent Care where they diagnosed them as second degree burns, gave me ointment and put me on prescription pain killers. They also told me to see my family doctor, who saw me later that week and noticed that some of the burns had become infected and placed me on antibiotics and gave me a tetanus shot. I have tried to engage with Holly via AMEX (she had promised a refund of a $200 gift card prior to the burns but never fulfilled it), the Better Business Bureau, the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Agency (who are openly investigating this) and my lawyer. From what I have been told, she has refused to engage with or provide requested information to any… of them and simply moved locations to, I imagine, avoid the situation. Because of Holly Shemami, I have spent hundred of dollars on medical care and treatment and I have been working with a mental health professional for PTSD like symptoms such as nightmare, flashbacks, anger, shame, anxiety attacks, physical shaking, insomnia, and avoiding triggers such as looking at my legs. So if you are considering using Holly Shemami, I would just ask that you consider what I wrote and make a well informed decision.
