Dr. Hong Chai, MD

Dr. Chai is the best! I highly recommend him. He listens and explains everything very well.

Dr. Chai is my first psychiatrist, I received a great care from him. However, I switched job last year and have a new medical insurance. Dr. Chai is not my in-network provider anymore, meaning I have to pay from my pocket since after. At that time, my symptoms got improving, and I was stable with monthly followup with Dr. Chai. In order to save money, I left from him and went to another psychiatrist. After a couple months treated in other medical office, I realized that I was wrong of leaving from Dr. Chai. Without comparison, you never know how professional he is and how nice his office is! Definitely, I decide to come back to Dr. Chai, and will resume to see he even I have to pay from my pocket for the visits, it does worth it!

I thought I finally found a psychiatrist that I really liked and everything was going pretty well. He was prescribing me seroquel and lexapro, and even diagnosed me with bipolar depression. He seemed very knowledgeable and I was growing to really like and trust him. I missed two appointments in a row though because I was feeling so down that I couldn’t get out of bed and make it there. One of the times I called the other I didn’t. When I called to reschedule after the second one she notified me that he took me off of his care and would only prescribe me one more month of medication. I couldn’t find a new psychiatrist that had an appointment within a month, and seroquel withdrawal is very severe. I ended up having to go to the emergency room just to get a prescription to last me until my appointment with a new psychiatrist.

I like Dr. Chai's bedside manner. He sounds reasonable and explained in the language that I can understand without a MD degree. He helps me improved my grades. He earns my trust.

Dr. Chai is skilled and calm. He values and respects my need.
