Dr. Hong Gao, MD

I never never receive a call from the doctor or a nurse to go over lab work or medication. I have called several times and I have yet to speak with someone. The staff there informs me that they will have someone call me back in “just a few minutes” and then I don’t hear from them. If you need medications good luck because this clinic has the worst customer service. They have definitely dropped the ball on me.

i am delighted with Dr. Gao. She asks excellent questions, listens carefully, is analytical, thorough and humane. I trust her judgment and recommendations completely. She seems to have a nice sense of humor, too, which is good when one is not feeling well or might be worried.

My first experience with Dr Gao and her staff rates five stars. Her nurse was very respectful and informative . Dr Gao was very competent ,respectful, and willing to explore whatever was needed to evaluate my husband's condition. I received more information in this one short visit than I have in the last year from many other specialists treating the same condition. Thank you Dr Gao.

I had never had gall bladder problems until I had an attack 10 days ago. My primary doctor sent me immediately for a CAT scan and gall stones were verified. I had been going to another GI doctor (in another practice) and had a horrible experience so I called this group for an appoointment -- they got me in in two days and it was with Dr, Gao. I was called back 5 minutes before my appointment -- the nurse was exceptional - made me very comfortable and then Dr, Gao came in. She listened carefully, looked over all the forms I had filled out, asked questions and referred me to a surgeon for gall bladder removal.She is a real treasure and made me feel like she really cared about me.

I was going to another GI in town and felt like he could care a less about my liver disease, and only wanted to throw antibiotics my way. Dr. Gao was very caring, she listened and gave me very helpful and informative advice/suggestions. Feel so much better physically and mentally!

Hello fellow Floridians , my hometown Cocoa Beach! I am currently a Carson City NV resident. I was a patient of Dr Goa for several years 2014-2017. at GI Consultants,under her care she was quick to get to the root of all issues with both upper & lower GI. She was always on top of everything! Preforming neccessaty tests, procedures. In my case geosophical & Colon reduction was very necessary. She put me with the best surgeon here & followed up in a timely manner. She will only refer out surgery when needed , same goes for prescription. She very knowlegable and knows when to take action! Highly recommended ! Kathy Vail Carson City NV

Very Knowledgable, professional, shows concern and listens. Very smart, approachable. Typically has a very tight schedule, which limits patient-doctor access.

Little did I know that making the appointment would be the best part of the experience. Dr Gau is very difficult to understand. I felt like she was too busy typing to listen to what I had to say. She is very aggresive in spending my money by ordering a whole slew of tests. There is very little effective communication between her and the staff. As far as calling in, count on being on a merry-go-round of transferred phone calls because no one really wants to talk to you.
