Dr. Hong I Shen, MD

I leave this review for a few reasons. Dr. Shen as a Physician is amazing, you could not ask for a better doctor. The office staff is horrid, lazy, rude and seems to always be bothered especially the office manager. The wait times are super inconvenient, I do not have the time to be in an office 3-4 hours at a time. Better scheduling of patients is a must. Also, when have we stopped seeing/treating the sick and only allowing the well in our office. I had cold/ Flu like symptoms at the end of December and was not able to be seen even tho I had a Negative COVID test. How can a doctor do a proper assessment of a patient and treat over TeleMed? Dr. Shen is caring and compassionate, he listens to you, he as a patient make you have value, not just thr Wallet. I just don't know how much longer I can deal with with this office staff, the excessive wait times, and not have a physician to see if I have a runny nose or cold.

Daytral brown is awesome! Office staff can be slow to get things done at times. But Daytral and Dr. Shen are amazing.

Dr Shen is wonderful. His nurse Ashley is very nice but busy. Dr Shen is very booked, but if you can try to see him instead of his PA. Ms. Brown's beside manner and knowledge base seem lacking.

Horrible rude staff..dr was very rushed

I think Dr. Shen and LaDonna are the best Doctor and PA in Texas. Very courteous, professional and spends time with you. Other then that the experience is an epic fail. The whole staff needs to be fired. I routinely wait in excess of 2 hours to see the doctor. I have never gotten my test results back without multiple calls and harassing the staff for the results. I recently had a test done at the hospital. Dr Shen's office scheduled it at least a week prior but never sent the order to the hospital. I had to wait over an hour for the hospital to contact Shen medical to get the order. Now I am still waiting for the office to call me with results that they should have had 2 days ago. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!

As of today, I will no longer be returning to Dr. Shen's office. Dr. Shen and Ladonna are very good, but there staff, especially the front office are rude and uncompasionate. I went to my appointment today to see Ladonna concerning the possibilty of having diabetes. I knew I would have to pay my regular co-pay, but out of the blue I was told I would have to pay an additional $56 that no one would explain to me. I am on social security and have to budget my money accordingly. I was told I either had to pay a total of $76 or re-schedule my visit. No one would discuss other options. I tried to talk to one woman, who I asked 5 different times what I could pay to be able to continue my appointment. And, yes, I got louder each time I asked her. She stuck her nose in the air and would never to answer me. She started to close the window and I stopped her.by putting my hand up. She whined and cried about me smashing her fingers. What no one else would acknowledge was that she had… grabbed my wrist which now is bruised and sprained. I will be going back to the local police to file assult and elder abuse against this woman. Dr. Shen had better wake up and realize that his staff is costing him patients.

Very patient and compassionate

Dr.Shen makes his patients feel like they are the only one he is concerned with while seeing him. He is worth the wait and does not rush you in any way! If we had more Doctors like him, they world would be a better place. He is caring, thorough and very informative. He wants to make certain you understand your diagnosis and goes the extra mile to do so. He is very kind, and patient. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is truly looking for a Doctor who's heart is in the right place.
