Dr. Hong Thu Nguyen, MD

Dr. Nguyen refused to perform a stress test on me that my cardiologist requested. She said that due to my Left Bundle Branch Block, the stress test would be inaccurate and that she wouldn't do it due to her moral principles. She also said that none of her colleagues at that hospital (Dignity Health in Down Town LA) would do it. When I asked her why she was talking in the name of her colleagues and to please let me talk to someone else, she said no one else was there except herself and that she wasn't talking in their name (although she kept repeating that none of her colleagues was going to perform this test on me, that she could assure me of this decision that she seemed to make for her colleagues. I got upset and I decided to leave and to take the EKG patches that I had on myself, then she called the security on me to walk me to the exit of the hospital when I was already leaving! Please don't put your heart in the hands of this person!

I don't normally write reviews, but... I went to this doctor twice. I was having trouble with my eyes and needed a referral. I had changed medical groups just to get a referral to a specific eye doctor affiliated with this new medical group. I was supposed to have a blood test also, which I didn't do, but went back to him a second time to get a lab test and ask him about my referral which never was sent. I needed more referrals as well as I have problems relating to sinuses and I have a stent . I needed those other referrals as I have ongoing problems and this needed to be dealt with by a specialist. I was told I could take nose spray to alleviate my problem. I refused that solution and said I need a referral. And also a referral for a cardiologist because of the stent. I was told by him I didn't need to see the cardiologist either as I needed to have chest pains. I told him I was experiencing some discomfort and I needed to see that doctor. He then proceeded to tell me… that if I wasn't going to listen to him about the solution he gave me because he knew what he was talking about and if I insisted on referrals, maybe I should change doctors. I was surprised by this as I had legit issues to see a specialist. So, I changed doctors. What a waste of my time. On top of that I was there from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm and there was only two other patients in the office. Second, I had called pharmacy to get my prescriptions of which two had to be called to the doctor to renew them. They were not renewed for three days, and only because I went in to see him for my second appt.

She is really good.
