Dr. Hootan C Roozrokh, MD

I had previous experience in surgery to compare. Recently I was declining again, the hospital staff emphatically recommended Dr. Roozrokh. After two traumatic surgeries (football size open hole in abdomen} then a 22 hour marathon surgery by a team at a different hospital to save my life, both years ago. I was dying of infection from fistulas, which a Primary Phy. told me recently that it would go away on its own & all old people got them. Luckily, I called Dr. Roozrokh's office without a referral, to get help. Dr. Roozrokh cleaned up the internal mess correctly and repaired my body. I feel alive again, and good after 15 years of feeling dead/dying. Dr. Roozrokh is amazing, one in a million of the truly great. My entire stomach has no signs of the extensive surgury (removed 37 lbs. of tissue, no scar welts) and looks as good as when I was a teenager! He's the best, and a wonderful person.

I went in for a routine polyp removal, and Dr. Roozrokh chose to move my gastric bypass limb, resulting in a 30 day hospital stay for widespread infection, pneumonia, and sepsis - along with an ileostomy requiring ostomy pouch maintenance. He sent me home with known infections and no antibiotics, resulting in a further 10 day hospital stay at Stanford. I spent 6 months at home unable to eat (with IV nutrition) and needing constant care for my medical maintenance.

He saved my life in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Was always a very caring person and stopped to listen to people when he was a resident in training from day one!

I can't believe we got so lucky to meet Dr. Roozrokh. I had emergency surgery recently. He performed laparoscopic surgery instead of making a large incision that another surgeon wanted to do. He took the time to perform the harder procedure, but now I have no scars, went home the next day, and over all feel great. I would recommend him to anyone. Dont wait for an emergency like me.

He treats his patients as one of his own family members.He takes extreme pride and makes sure his patients are in least painpossible and educates his patients every step in his process of treatment!He is extremely well knowledged, kind, and always takes time with his patients!
