Dr. Horacio Natanael Alvarez Ramirez, MD

I do not recommend Dr. Alvarez. He was very slow on making a decision to put me on a med that I was prescribed by another doctor. After 3 months he decided not to allow me on it after I took a $380 drug test that was not covered by my insurance. He reason for not allowing me to take Ritalin was a positive THC drug test.

Patient for 2+ years. At first had 2 positive interactions with Dr. Alvarez. Helpful with routine Rx refill, even took the time to check GoodRx for the best price. However, when I went with an illness, not helpful or accurate diagnosing. Recurring ear infection, sinus infection, strep visits- each time had a problem with Dr. R.A. I do not go to the Dr unless I have been sick for at least 2 weeks, the kind I am losing work time and sleep over. I try every kind of self care first. When it's gotten awful, I go. Generally he acted like I should just take Tylenol and use OTC products, even though I had a temp over 103 and dark yellow/green mucus. I basically had to convince him that my symptoms were indicative of the infection. Finally, wrote a script for antibiotics, which cleared up fairly quickly. The last visit, with no intention of returning, he suggested I go to ER for procedure. Although I shared with him there were 2 confirmed cases of strep at my work that week, and… had to convince him to just test me for this. Yep, strep.

He takes time to ask questions and explain the "why's". It is very easy to be comfortable around him. He is one of the only doctor's in this area that is very knowledgeable about Turner's Syndrome and the issues that affect these girls.
