Dr.Coker is a very compassionate person he explains everything to you after reading the results so plain and clear and show you on the chart one of the best primary doctors in the valley

First, I waited 2 hours to see Dr. Coker my first time. I asked if he received the medical paper work from my oncologist. They had not. Nurse was going to ask for it again. They referred me to an Oncology/Hematology and when I received my referral letter,I called. Nothing. They rejected my referral because Dr. Coker didn't send them my info from previous oncologist. They said to go back and ask Dr. Coker to submit the paper work and get a new referral. 3 months later I have someone. Secondly, I have had a knee and shoulder problem preventing from playing sports (Tennis, racquetball, pickle ball, volleyball, etc.) It hurt during and after. I told him since in 2012 I had an ALC/Menicus tear I can tell this is my LCL and some other things with my knew. My shoulder had been repaired in 2001 and I told him it feel like the same thing. What does he do. He referred only my knee and said it was arthritis. So now it has to go back to him to update my referral to add my shoulder… (completely left out) and my real knee issues. DON't use him you will walk away with high blood pressure, and even worse, he will make you feel like your injuries or illness aren't important because he doesn't know how to manage his time, actually or do a referral. As soon as this referral get fixed I am going to see a different PCP. Shame on UMC for keeping Dr. Coker.

Dr.Coker subscribe me medication without doing any las work. Indomethacin ( can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke ). With no lab work Dr. Coker did not know my liver or kidney function. Since he did not do any lab work. Told me to come back in six months. What a joke. I found a new doctor.

Well, I am still seating. The front desk person has squeezed in two people to see Dr.Coker . I have been here since 10:12 am. It is now 11:41am and Queen Bee rude Anna at the front desk has not call me. The wait room only have 3 patients wait. I am leaving this the worst service have had in a medical doctor’s office. I think Dr. Coker has lost a paying client/patient . The worst UMC Spring Valley Center on South Rainbow

I was 12 minutes late for my appointment and the front desk person will not sign me. She told me she can reschedule me for 2 days later. She will not go back to the nurse and ask them can they see me. She said I can just sit here, incase someone cancel their appointment. I told her I was late due traffic problems. She really don’t care. She said she will not go back and ask him to see me. However , I am overhearing her tell people the other doctor is out sick and will push them in to see Dr. Coker. What kind of crap is this. She still have not call me.

Dr Coker has been my primary care MD for 10 years. I had mixed results with him and his staff but had my reasons for sticking around. Suddenly, he is gone! No notice, no phone number, no letter, nothing but a too-late phone call from a former employee who was “helping out.” He has gone to UMC but he isn’t there yet; evidently he is ill or took a nice long vacation between practices. When he does start there, he’s already booked up solid they say. No one ever bothered to call and cancel our appointments at diagnostic for next week. I am stuck unable to discuss 2 important medical tests results with my provider, without the referral he promised me to go with those test results, no lab test results, and no one to obtain Pre approval on an important med that suddenly has to be obtained in a different dosage form. Diagnostic Center of Medicine, which is no longer on Durango, will only allow you to leave a message and they do not return calls. I have found a new primary care MD… but of course cannot get in right away.

I had been a "well" patient of Dr. Coker for years; however last year when I became sick I was very surprised and disapointed that he was not able to diagnose my condition. I had gone to him 3 times with symptoms and he failed to deliver a proper diagnosis for a very common, but serious condition I have. After having to coax him to do a simple blood test my condition was revealed; and to make things worse he attempted to treat it by giving me a prescription dose that was inadequate. Yes, everybody thinks he's "thorough" because he takes a long time with you; but you always have to wait 45- 1.25 minutes to see him. It's interesting how I believed him to be a " good' doc for all those years I was healthy. But when it came down to his help with diagnosing a serious medical condition he failed miserably; and to add fire to the fuel, after my diagnosis I was never able to get him or his staff on the phone for clarification. They literally never answer the phone in his back office. I would… not recommend him to ANYONE!!

Dr. Coker is the most thorough, patient doctor I have ever had. Definitely worth the wait

Dr. Coker is amazing this is my second visit to him. I'm sitting in the office now. I'm 23 with gallbladder disease. He spent 90 mins explaining what everything meant. How it all worked. He really cares and I would recommend everyone to him. He is the best
