Dr. Howard S Freiman, DO

My encounter with Dr Freiman was the most traumatic experience of my life. I came to the ER in the worst pain of my life, vomiting and very ill. I felt like I was literally going to die. Dr Freiman decided, with no evidence, that I was drug-seeking. (Obviously — why else would a woman come to the ER claiming to have immobilizing abdominal pain?) He proceeded to treat me with great roughness and brutality. My husband told me later that I had been going in and out of consciousness on the exam table. And while I was unconscious, Dr Freiman would triumphantly declare, "She’s refusing treatment!" I was mistreated and dismissed from the ER like a sack of garbage. When I was taken to another ER in a different town later the same day, the staff came rushing toward me with a gurney and rushed me past triage straight into a cubicle. They did the intake paperwork while the IV was being put in. *That’s* how sick I looked. The new ER doctor who was not Dr Freiman felt an abdominal mass… and ordered an urgent ultrasound. (Dr Freiman had not ordered any diagnostic scan). Long story short: what Dr Freiman dismissed as drug-seeking was, in fact, a life-threatening ovarian torsion with internal hemorrhaging. I’m only alive today because I was taken to another ER and was seen by a different doctor after being mistreated and dismissed by Dr Freiman.
