Dr. Howard Randall Hicks, MD

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hicks three months in advance. The appointment was set for 5 PM. I arrived 30 minutes early and was greeted by no one, sitting in a room with only a few magazines in on a coffee table. When he called the next person before me I stated that I had an appointment at five to which he showed me his calendar showing my appointment at 8 AM written in pencil. No follow up call no email no one answer the phone when you contact them. This doctor is unreliable and I do not suggest him for someone that’s dealing with serious mental health issues.

Dr. Hicks is a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable psychiatrist. I've been dealing with chronic depression and severe anxiety for over four decades. There are times that during our appointment I feel rushed. But as most doctors, Dr. Hicks is limited with his time and does his best. He listens to my needs and allows me to make suggestions since I have been on medications and have undergone several treatments for 29 years. I really appreciate Dr. Hicks' expertise and kind demeanor.

some of the above questions above are not relevant to my experience with Dr. Hicks who I see for prescriptions only. Dr Hicks strikes me as an experienced knowledgeable Doctor. I like his personality and easy demeanor. He does seem hurried and very busy as most Doctors are these days. It's apparent he has been a doctor for a long time and knows how to cut to the chase. He does not waste time nor wants to waste time. This is demonstrated by his experienced guidance of the interview or session.

Dr. Hicks helped me through an extremely difficfult time of my life and brought me through the process to get me to a better place.

I've been looking for a new doctor for quite some time, and finally with Dr Hicks I think I've found someone that I can work with. He has both the experience to tackle difficult cases and a style that works well for those, like me, who like to be involved in their own care and decision-making. At no point have I felt like he didn't hear what I had to say. Finding the right fit is a difficult task, but Dr Hicks is worth seeing if you think you might work well with him based on what I've said.
