Dr. Howard G Kornfeld, MD

Dr. Howard G. Kornfeld, his staff, independent contractors, or team members are financial thieves. First, he met with my husband and me and required a deposit of $8,000. Then, he concluded that I needed to detox off a minimal amount of hydrocodone onto his pain medication of choice. Sent me to a costly Detox house that cost $1500 per day. Dr. Kornfeld MD then began to run up invoices for every contact he felt justifiable. Within a month and a half, he ran up invoices totaling over $46,500.00 for his fees alone. He never tells you that his independent contractors are communicating with him daily at your expense. Dr. Kornfeld MD and his team never gave me an opportunity for offer and acceptance. My life spiraled out of control because Dr. Kornfeld would not interact with me directly and made assumptions about what was going on and how I tolerated his unorthodox medication choices. Please, for your health, for your mental health, stay away from Dr. Howard Kornfeld and Recovery… Without Walls. Call your health care company and ask for help before you think for a second to hire this Dr and his team.

I am very grateful. I had been prescribed a drug by another doctor, that I wrongly assumed would do me no harm. After many years I found that my health was greatly threatened. I was "cut loose" by that doctor, and I was in dire straits until I found Dr Kornfeld. Through medication-assistance, nutrition, exercise and the calm, kind interaction Dr Kornfeld provided, I was able to resume my life productively and happily. Thank you very much.

Howard Kornfeld might help some but he exploits people, too. Why would a physician want to know someone's worth and resources and have info from a trust account FAXED directly to his office? Because he wants to know how much he can milk his patients for what they're worth. AND when they are at the darkest hour, dependent on him. He abuses power and trust (at best) and exploits and bankrupts others at worst.

Kornfeld put me through a detox so torturous it’s a miracle I’m still alive;put me on phenobarbital from being involuntarily addicted to klonopin and gabapentin then he recommended I go to Olympia House where I was abandoned except for the doling out of phenobarbatol by the staff nurse, my anxiety was so bad I had to stay for practically three months,now almost three years later I’m still suffering from neurological complications,don’t walk Run from this guy.

A complete fraud. He's addicting people to medications more difficult to detox from than the meds they are trying to kick.

What I notice is he has managed to get a number of his reviews removed. The wording in 2012 review indicates other poor reviews. I've watch him medicate patients so much they ended up in ER or ICU at Marin General on numerous occasions. He focuses on those who can pay high fees in cash just to walk in and see him. He should be investigated.

I was dependent on OxyContin and all sorts of other medications when I walked in the door of Recovery Without Walls (Dr. Kornfeld's Practice). Even with all the meds I still had extremely bad pain. Dr. Kornfeld switched me to Suboxone and has worked to ween it down. I now live, pain and addiction free. I did not have the same experience as the other reviewers.
