Great service by DR Howard Nesbitt and staff is very friendly

My family and I have been going to Dr. Nesbitt for about 15 years, and admire him greatly. His office has had some personnel issues, but the long-time employees are very helpful. When I had a problem with a previous staffer, he and his office manager immediately responded. They've gone through some difficult changes lately due to Northeastern Hospital closing. His bedside manner may not be warm-and-fuzzy, but he does listen and he does care. He is certainly blunt and sometimes rushed for time, but he doesn't blow people off. He is very cautious about perscribing meds, and I like that about him. (There are enough doctors writing them too easily - is it a bad thing to be ethical?) He is good at diagnosing and will order tests and refer specialists to ensure patients receive appropriate care. I absolutely trust and highly recommend Dr. Nesbitt.

As a doctor, your services are fine. However, Your office staff was so rude and inconsiderate toward me, that I have decided to look for a new doctor. I have been a patient of Northeast Medical since I was 5 years old and stayed on even after my original Doctor left a few years ago. But your move was very inconvientent and your office staff did not inform me that both of your prvious locations were closed. When I walked 10 blocks in the rain to the new location and was a few minutes late they refuse to see me and were vary rude toward me. It is a shame that your office does not treat your patients with more respect.

My 1st visit today with Dr. Nesbitt will be one I will never forget. I must say that I was totally taken off guard with the total lack of professionalism and down right rudeness that I encountered from this physician. As part of my visit I requested professional consult on weight management stratagies and was bombarded with his jaded assumptions regarding obesity. He jumped to an initial assumption that I was there in his office solely to "seek" diet pills. This was not what I wanted and required me to interrupt his barrage to correct his mis-perception. He asked me how much I weighed in high school and if I was always a "chunky monkey", he also asked when I started to put on weight and stated "is that when your life started to go down hill? Over and over I felt the need to defend myself and self-esteem. He told me to go home and take a good long look at your family pictures - if you have to "unfold the photo 8 times to open it up" - you then know that genetics may play a part. HOW… RUDE IT THAT!! I went with the hopes of a professional discussion with a knowledgable healthcare practicioner about a sensitive and personal healthcare matter and instead was subjected to a tainted, biased, narrow one-side perspective. Dr. Nesbitt, you may have 38 hrs of practice experience but my guess is that you BURNED OUT 30 years ago and should RETIRE!!! Future patients BEWARE!!!
