Dr. Howard Frederick Perell, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Perell for many years for glaucoma and general eye care after I was treated at JHH. He also treated my mother and aunt for the same issue, (glaucoma). He is responsible for them retaining eyesight throughout their later years after they had been misdiagnosed elsewhere. He treated them like family the rest of their time as patients with him. Dr. Perell has treated me with the utmost respect and care. He has done preventative laser surgery to prevent me from developing glaucoma, as it runs in my family. He is always willing to go the extra mile for any patient and truly cares about each one. I have found Dr. Perell to be exceptionally bright in other fields of medicine when I have ever spoken to him about any medical issues I have been experiencing and he has steered me correctly whenever I have needed a referral. I truly feel one could not ask for a more knowledgeable, caring, or compassionate doctor than Dr. Perell.

After he diagnosed me, I asked his assistant how long i would need to take the prescription. He returned with an attitude and told me it is common for people like me to have glaucoma and if i don't want to take care of my eyes, that is my problem. Almost 5 years and 2 second opinions later, i still have NO SIGN OF GLAUCOMA!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Perrell for years now. One of the best doctors I have ever seen. Always pleasant, talks about his family, takes time to ask you about yours. Explains things thoroughly and I understand in layman terms what the diagnosis is. I always walk out of his office smiling. Brenda is absolutely one of the best assistants, along with the other office workers. The entire office staff is welcoming and you feel just as comfortable walking into your appointment as you do walking out. Thank you Dr. Perrell for your service, expertise and down to earth demeanor.
