Dr. Howard Anthony Rose, MD

Dr. Rose and his staff are wonderful. They all went above and beyond my expectations before, during and after rotator cuff surgery. Hope I don't ever need orthopedic surgery again, but if I do, I know where I'll go!

I have been a patient of Dr. Rose since 2014 when he did an amazing left knee replacement. I have continued to consult with him on my right knee which was done by another surgeon - long story and he has been equally attentive and helpful. I personally love his office staff- Ellen and Thalia and have always been treated extremely well with efficiency and expediency. I continue to highly recommend Dr. Rose and staff.

Lovely Doctor. Horrible office staff! BEWARE!! I was told they would accept my insurance - out of network. Then they started ending me bills for the follow up appointments, which I was told would be covered. The staff is horribly rude and threatened me with collections, after I stopped receiving bills a year ago. I suggest you think long and hard before using this practice. Especially if they offer to take you on as an "out of network" patient. Find another surgeon! THEY LIE!!!!

Over a two year period, my meniscus was torn, then my ACL severed, the combination of which required surgery. With multiple family members already veterans of Dr. Rose's superlative care, there was no question my knee had to fixed by Dr. Rose at HSS, the best hospital in the world bar none for orthopedic surgery. Unfortunately, my insurance wouldn't cover the hospital or doctor so I decided to wait one year, changed my insurance & had the surgery six months ago. Boy-oh-boy was it worth it as I can recount first-hand & anecdotal evidence of similar surgeries gone awry, in some cases very, very badly in different hospitals with doctors other than Howard Rose who turned out to be exactly what I expected, a master at his craft employing the latest technology to repair my knee so well & with so little trauma barely a scar exists & my knee is pain-free & fully functional, & some unexpected, like his warm embrace, easy-going manner, wonderful good humor alongside his exacting, meticulous… approach to surgery, pre & post-operative care, all supported by an infrastructure of superb, knowledgeable & generally very caring & patient professionals on the medical & administrative sides of his practice, most notably in my case Ellen & Thalia to whom I remain grateful for their support & guidance throughout the process. Finally, I've been astounded at the superhuman skills paired with striking humility I've seen on display from orthopedic surgeons at HSS during the past year, both with Dr. Rose & with Dr. Andrew Sama, as well, who repaired my father's broken neck & restored his sight line. HSS, its corps of world class surgeons, nurses, medical & administrative teams are simply the best, the "A" Team!

Dr. Rose is a great doctor! He is very caring and a very nice man. He has performed 2 different surgeries on me and both had excellent results! I highly recommend Dr. Rose!

I was satisfied with Dr. Howard Rose, but as far as his staff and especially the billing department they are the worst I ever dealt with in any medical office.

Doctor Rose has been actively treating my bad knee. He is a true professional for whom I fully trust.

The expert, professional and compassionate care I have received from Dr. Rose since 2003 has been outstanding. He repaired my torn meniscus and performed a very successful TKR. I was pain free and walking on the boardwalk within six weeks. When I am ready he will repair my rotator cuff tear. Dr. Rose always sits next to you and quietly discusses your test results, options and reason for surgery, if needed. He also always takes time to listen carefully which is reassuring. You never feel rushed. I have been to the Manhasset location twice. I found the entire staff to be professional, efficient and helpful. My wait time was 20 minutes. Dr. Rose is worth waiting for. If I have to wait longer (future visits), I would be mindful of the times I needed that extra ten minutes of his time to express my concerns and for reassurance.

Dr Rose is a good surgeon but his staff is so bad that I can't recommend him. They are unprofessional, rude, mean, insensitive. They are bullies. His nurse practitioner is a the most unhappy, nasty, disrespectful witch I have come across in a medical setting. I have said all of this to the doctor. I very strongly think he will do nothing about it. I am sure he already knows.
