Dr. Howard Bernard Rosen, MD

When I saw Rosen at the Institute of PA, he was known by staff as imperious, gruff, and condescending. He was much the same with patients. He can be whiny and insulting and often falls asleep and pretends he hasn't. At the time I saw him, anti-depressants had just made it on the scene. I suffered from severe anxiety attacks at the time that were very painful and traumatic in themselves. I told Rosen that the new meds often helped stop the attacks. He told me he wouldn't prescribe them for me because if the attacks subsided, I wouldn't have the motivation to find the real source of my anxiety. Hence, I suffered great psychological pain for years because of his theory. By the way, Howard, if you read this, I would like you to know l never found relief by seeing you.

Dr. Rosen is very unprofessional and never makes the time for his patient's caregiver or advocate , even though we have signed forms stating we can and are part of this persons care. He doesn't have a voicemail to return phone calls. When he does contact you, it is to his schedule only and doesn't care about your schedule or that your time is valuable too when trying to set up a meeting. We couldn't adhere to his meeting time and Dr. Rosen wouldn't compromise at all. No meeting was ever set up after we couldn't agree to his rigid ways. I have a son who has severe disabilities and I was never told what the treatment plan would be or what they were doing for my son. The social worker couldn't tell me or the nurses. Have no clue what therapies or treatments Dr. Rosen did for my son. How unprofessional is that?? This Dr. has obvious ego problems and I question his protocols how things are done. I would never recommend this Dr. We never had this experience with any of… my sons previous psychiatrists and shocked to be dealing with this and totally unexpected and rude.
