Dr. Howard Lee Schafer, MD

Dr. Schafer is amazing. His bedside manners exceed all others, always provides time during appointments to listen.

Dr. Schafer is a GREAT doctor. He definitely puts a priority on OB patients, and especially those with pregnancy/fertility complications. It can be difficult scheduling appointments with him due to his high workload/patient volume, but if you get the chance to be his patient, you will be blessed. (Even if he is running behind schedule, you wouldn't be able to tell. He spends adequate time with each patient to get the job done well.) He was our third doctor in our fertility trail, and was the only one to successfully keep us pregnant (I had three miscarriages when seeing two previous doctors). Despite the previous complications, Dr. Schafer led us down a path to a very smooth pregnancy and labor/delivery. We are very impressed with his knowledge, bedside manners, compassion, and professionalism. Class act!

Dr. Schafer delivered both of my children. He is the most patient doctors I have ever been to. I never felt like he was rushing to be thru with my appointment. Even if he was running behind, he would always sit and answer all of my questions about my pregnancy, never rushed me. He is also a very thorough when monitoring your pregnancy. With both pregnancies he had me come back for an additional ultrasound because he wanted to make sure he was getting a100% look at the development of the major organs. His bed side manner at the hospital, during labor was amazing. He sat with me the entire time I pushed with my first pregnancy. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I drove over an hour to get to Dr. Schafer because there was no one else I wanted delivering my baby. My husband really like him as well and understood why I commuted to every appointment just so he could deliver our baby!
