He took the time with me to thoroughly explain the condition, the procedure, and the "after surgery". He was very professional. I appreciated that he came back to my room to speak with me before the surgery. His nurse was extremely kind and compassionate. He did an excellent job on the surgery. He and his nurse did such a wonderful job explaining the "afters" that I didn't have any surprises. I would whole heartily recommend him.

Dr. Schmidt recently performed a mastectomy on my 67 year old mother and he was absolutely wonderful! He genuinely cared about her health and took the time to explain every aspect of the surgery to her. The surgery went really well and that's due to Dr. Schmidt's caring attitude and skills. Five days after the surgery, my mother was hospitalized by a different doctor for a totally unrelated UTI. When Dr. Schmidt found out that my mother was in the hospital, he came to her room to check on her to see how she was doing even though the hospitalization had nothing to do with her surgery. I've taken my mother back to see him for 2 post-op check ups so far and Dr. Schmidt has been wonderful during both visits. He is an outstanding surgeon who truly cares about his patients and I highly recommend him for any type of surgery!

Surgery on your arteries serious. Dr. Thompkins is a better choice for this surgery and has a much better bedside manner and concern about your recovery.
