Dr. Howard Joel Schneider, MD

More than 15 years ago dr. Schneider removed a cataract from my right eye after 5 doctors refused to do so, finding it much too advanced. When he examined me, I recall how concerned he was, knowing how difficult a successful surgery would be. He told me, however, that I had nothing to lose by having an operation, since I was quickly losing my sight in that eye. This was a very difficult operation. I experienced no pain whatsoever, but dr. Schneider must have been exhausted after it was over. I recall that the cataract was as thick as granite and that he had to drill it with uttermost care to make sure not to injure the eye. The operation was a tremendous success. To this day I recall with the deepest gratitude that dr. Schneider saved my eye — the right one that I need for reading.
